Apart from Standard Chartered being fined $1.5 billion for money laundering for Iran their secondary sleeve sponsor Western Union were fined $586 million in 2017 and another $60 million in 2018 for money laundering for criminals.

In fairness, that is in keeping with the ethos of the majority of the clubs supporters. That's why they have a special bond.

Not sure but, from what I read on here, the written-off "ghost ground" development costs of £50m deserve a bit more attention from UEFA, Der Spiegel and assorted interested parties in my opinion.
Were given special dispensation by UEFA over that bit of fraud, the hole institution and its cronies are as corrupt as f--ck but the G14 tyrants have them in their pockets to ensure an unlevel playing field to ensure a money monopoly for the chosen few but City and PSG have blown a huge hole In that and FFP has been set up to stop both of us spending what ever wont on OUR DEBT FREE CLUBS @

Frankly the more City are criticised, the more ammunition they give us to compare with the far from clean other Clubs.
The media seek to attack City on non football fronts digging holes for the others to fall into.

Not entirely sure there can be too much issue with the comments:

“I don't know very much about what's going on with the investigations but all I can say is that we are strong advocates of the rules.
“We expect all the clubs in the league and all the clubs in Europe to comply. If they don't comply then there should be punishments.”

No opinion on City, and it's fair to want rulebreakers to be punished.

Let’s hope they are then

Then why make any statement that isn't different from any he has made before? It's done purposely to keep our alleged wrongdoing in the news and helps guarantee we will still be held guilty in certain quarters even if we are completely exonerated of all charges.

As oakie says just above, he was almost certainly asked during an interview. His answer is quite neutral - it's the Mirror that have shoved in the City stuff, not the Liverpool man.

Of course his answer would be neutral, rather like the neutral shit Wenger always threw at us. He's supposedly in Madrid watching with the 'to posh to wave plastic' fans of European royalty, cheering on their team. You would think he and the Echo could give it a rest, at least for the weekend.

The state of some of those comments underneath that Mirror article - this one was quality though:

I will assume you were unable to recycle enough hub caps to get to madrid...easy to throw insults, isn't it.

Perhaps you would care to comment on sponsors fined multi millions for money laundering, your own ffp failure and the dodgy way they got round that.

As for the moronic broken mirror comment, i'd say the slight damage you caused to a wall had far more serious consequences, and you still haven't answered the fact that City have had higher average attendances than Liverpool throughout most of football history.

Perhaps the plastic European royalty Trotskyists that infest your club could explain how they feel about someone investing in your club who's friends with Trump and donated to his presidential campaign. The United States has a far worse human rights record than Abu Dhabi, don't let that worry you though because you are utterly clueless about either country.

Tebas at today’s Q&A (try and read it without getting wound up):

'I did read the interview,' said Tebas. 'I think there is a lot of ignorance about certain things, firstly about how financial control works in European football and ignorance on regards to financial doping. I am not at all racist. I have no issues about ethnicity.

'How can I be racist if two of my grandchildren are Arab? I would be a racist against my own grandchildren! That just shows the ignorance and how easy it is to say things without knowing all the details and people's background. You are talking the ethnicity, it's not true.

Tebas responded by rubbishing insinuations he is racist and accused Al-Mubarak of ignorance
'People get confused when I say they are opening up the petrol and gas and finance it like state clubs. It's not the first time I've spoken about it - we had (Roman) Abramovich at Chelsea - they had a lot of losses and he covered it by putting in more money, but he doesn't do it any more.

'Jealous? That is not true. Real or Barcelona have never been state clubs, they have never received support from the state. They are clubs which have not been financed like, for example, PSG when the CAS said they had inflated their sponsorship with Qatar.

'Manchester City are pending a sanction and that is also related to sponsorship. Real Madrid and Barcelona have never had a situation like that in their history; they have never been financed by the Spanish state. I recommend he goes and studies the rules and regulations more.'

Tebas is not a figure who will shy away from making big statements and he took aim at UEFA for their plans to restructure the Champions League from 2024. He claimed it is a move that is worrying the European game and accused UEFA of 'killing football'.

'I think phenomenon of the state clubs are attacking or controlling the institution itself,' said Tebas.

'UEFA should try to stop this financial doping. The big clubs want to change the competition so they can get more money so they are able to compete with this phenomena.

'At the moment it is a very dangerous change to a new competition In my opinion it is absolutely lethal for professional football in Europe, the big leagues and the small leagues. It will kill off all the domestic TV revenues for smaller clubs.'

He left out the bit about the club he used to be President of being embroiled in the worst match-fixing scandal football has seen (so far) and his support for one of the most extremist fascist groups in Europe who are currently campaigning to bulldoze mosques and evict Muslims from Spain.

Anyone who has any understanding of the media would recognize the question for what it was , an opening to bash a rival, and he took it up he associated City with cheating , guilt and punishment, The one thing that stood out from his comment for me though was he invested in liverpool because of FFP. It`s ease of use to move money out of the club and the punishment of those who oppose

Not too much in that other than the expected bile from the Echo. But it tickles me that Werner says they invested in Liverpool on the basis of FFP. Translated from the American it means " we invested in Liverpool in the firm belief that no competition would be tolerated"

Hypocrisy of the highest order from Warner.

Did they tap up VVD and got found out. Yep they did.

They er........... apologized.

Liverpool fans can try and deflect as much as they want. These are two of their biggest sponsors who have admitted laundering money for the regime in Iran and in the second case (Western Union) handling cash from people smuggling. It is impossible to believe that none of this dirty money has not made its way to Liverpool FC via Fenway Sports Group. Those mouthing off about human rights are hypocrites of the highest order. Can you imagine how much stick we would get if Etihad had done this or to be fair if United's main sponsor Chevrolet had done something similar?

I have been digging into Swiss law. Arbitration, which is what CAS offer is subject to a statutory code. Quite long and complicated but the essence is that there are strict procedural rules to ensure fairness. You can appeal CAS decisions to the Swiss supreme court. BUT..... the supreme court almost never overturns the verdict of CAS on a substantive matter. It concentrates on whether the procedural rules were adhered to. Hmmm......
