Just to put it into context.
1,333 days, 208 games, £382m spent on new players, a squad of 18 worth £434m with another £50m player injured, compared to their opponents 18 of £265m.
£315m spent in the past 2 seasons on new players. The major source of income to pay for those players came from a player sale whose funding turns out to originate from oil money. A kit sponsor who pays $1bn fines for breaching Iran sanctions and Forex rigging. Then, they happen to have a kit manufacturer based in the same city as their owners with whom they have commercial relationships who made their foray into football to conveniently sponsor the club. They did so with a record-breaking deal (more than United at the time) which was since bumped up, and when first signed was over double what an established manufacturer was willing to pay.
You'd think this was City. You'd be wrong, it's Klopp and Liverpool.
In contrast, Pep has spent just over £100m more (£490m) for 4 additional trophies (I'll leave the Shield on the mantelpiece).
En plus, Mancini spent £294m for his Premier League & FA Cup, whilst Manuel spent £311m for his PL title and 2 League Cups.
So welcome to the spending club Jurgen, I'm glad you could finally win a trophy to bring value for money.
Spend per Trophy
Klopp - £382m.
Mancini - £147m.
Manuel - £104m.
Pep - £98m.
and just remember, if they mention net spend then all their income is disregarded because the Coutinho money originated in PSG thus is tainted as oil money, and as they want to taint our £500m+ revenue over a legitimate deal with Etihad and a few other token Abu Dhabi sponsors, then we must show them the same courtesy.
