If that were to happen though and the NHS no longer became free at the point of use, and we undid the best part of a century’s worth of hard work and decency, would you apologise?

I don’t think you would, I think you’d blame something else.

Its not going too happen.

Its a figment of remain imagination, a scare story, a look what will happen if we dont get our way and stay in the EU fallacy.

What will or should happen in the coming years though is a separate NHS tax we will all pay if working and a real need for the entire population to understand that the service is there to treat the seriously ill and injured and it is not there for those that either dont really need it or just feel entitled.

NHS is almost entirely funded by tax/NI already, what it needs is a radical operational overhaul on the admin side, operationally it's incredibly inefficient

I'm not so sure. Fair enough if he was just wrong, but blatently lying to secure votes, that can't be right surely?

I don't think the free speech defence works here. If he was saying it privately, even in public I suppose but if he wasn't involved in the referendum then yeah. But we can't have politicians campaigning with lies. I know they all massage statistics etc but lying to get votes, there has to be some repercussions. It can't be right that they can say whatever they want, people believe them and vote based on their lies then at the end they say "well that's not exactly what I said" . I'm not so naive, I know most politicians are full of shit but we can't have them just making stuff up

I get what you’re saying, and yesterday I was all for sending Johnson to prison(!) but I’ve reflected and I think today’s decision was (overall) correct for the reason I’ve outlined.

The alternative would be so open to abuse. Almost certainly a dangerous path to go down.

Yeah I think it would set a dangerous precedent, there must be some middle ground though. I don't know what that would be but things can't go on the way they are

When Bevan was introducing the NHS, it was not envisioned that it would be expected to provide free tits,
gastric bands for people unable to keep their mouths shut and free maternity care for Nigerians, so maybe there's a
case for a little bit of reform, perhaps.

Does it provide free maternity care for Nigerians? If so, how much of the NHS budget is taken up by this?
