Saw the end of Germany v China and we’re 20 mins in to Spain v South Africa. It’s tough viewing. Slow and low quality. I’ll probably watch the England games and that’s it.
Poor South Africa. VAR on a player’s follow through on a clearance that accidentally spikes a Spanish player in the thigh in the box. Deemed a penalty (which is absolutely nuts IMO) and a second yellow. 2-1 Spain.
This is where VAR translates what was common currency within a game of football - contact, ball hitting hand, and a host of other bits of general play - into penalties. VAR was meant to be the ultimate answer to all the dropped bollocks refs make over the course of a season and now it is now turning out to be the instrument by which competition organizers and governing bodies can manipulate the outcome of a game, and flim-flam the paying public.
A contingent of scum are on show.So this BBC documentary that they are showing right now I take it no city players are in the squad then ?
Edit . Ah there's Steph Houghton finally !!!
A contingent of scum are on show.
But nothing stating 5 city ladies are starting
State of tony Duggan. Yes let’s take women’s football seriously, so she turns up plastered in makeup and false eyelashes. I’m surprised she hasn’t got her rollers in. Ridiculous.
Edit. Big mistake, it’s Greenwood whoever she is. Apologies to duggan.
