Most of the top players are a brand whether it's with clothing ranges and the like,i wouldn't say it's a bad thing,the top players are still top players on the pitch

Disagree, if you want to get to the very top of your profession you don't build brands, at least not until your established.

Sane has all the tools to be one of the greats, but not sure if he has the desire.

I don't understand why he would want to leave City and Pep at his time. The best coach in the business and a great club.

He is young enough to get his move back to Germany in the future, or if he does build his brand, a perfect fit for Real Madrid.

PS Ask Neymar what playing in a inferior league does to your career.

Beckham was a bit unique in that field. Firstly he had lots of women and probably a few men swooning over his looks, then he married posh spice when they were the biggest girl band in the world. All this posh and Becks bollocks, golden balls, it was the perfect storm for them. Don't forget he played for the rag loving media and then Spain's equivalent in Real Madrid. Also he was a half decent player, not as good as the hype, but not bad. Leroy at the moment just comes across as a stroppy teenager. He needs to up his game, force his way into the team and start playing regularly. His problem is he has two better wingers innfront of him. When David Silva leaves and if Bernardo moves into his slot he may get his chance, if he is still here of course.

This isn't directed specifically at you, but this post is a good example.

We need to stop being so fucking insecure about this. I would love for Leroy to stay, but if he doesn't want to sign a new deal he doesn't want to sign. We'll sell him, go sign some other super talented player, and move on. We just won four trophies and have the best manager in the world. Are we really going to get worked up about Bayern players talking to him at the lunch table? Come on. We all know deep down that if he was serious about signing a new deal none of this, and certainly not David fucking Beckham, would make a difference. Top players leave top teams for one reason or another all the time, and top teams just move on to the next one. If he wants to leave it's his loss and we'll move on too.
 
As others have said...he is very young ... enough time to build his brand at a later stage

I think you'll find they all start quite young,Sane has proved himself in the toughest league,he has all the medals that's why bayern are desperate to get him back to germany,we should say we only have little bits of info and not the full picture,he may well stay

Beckham took fame over his career. The Glasgow piss can realised this and did the correct thing in sending him packing from the RAGS

He isn't that young, 24 next season this contract will take him to 28/29. It's probably the most important contract of his career , he needs to make sure it's the right one for him, whatever that is.

He has proved absolutely nothing as yet.

He came, had a great 1st season, and has regressed this last season.

A very talented player, but far from proven.

I really want him to stay, but as other's have said, if he wants to go back to Germany, goodbye and thank you, welcome to Felix.

I agree beckham was near to a one off but the fact him and posh are still a huge brand even now shows he is not as stupid as he looks/sounds and simon fuller is a great man to build you a brand,have to say the likes of pogba is what happens when you build a brand then don't deliver on the pitch,i think Sane can do both

Disagree, the more marketable our players are, the better for us as a global brand. He's not on that level, but look what Ronaldo did for Juventus' profile, and they walk the league every year. As long as his performances don't drop off and he's not on silly money, then I don't think it's a bad thing.

Pogba & Lingard disagree with these sentiments, the football bit thats required to market and enhance their brand is more laborious than attending a black tie marketing function and getting seated with a bunch of freeloading pissed up scousers.

He will regress if he is not played,look at it from the german angle,he was young player of the year here,he has a load of medals now and can be the poster boy in germany,he has more than achieved enough to get that amount of interest,don't put him down,there is no need
