João Félix

Can't tell your accent, but your syntax is just fine. And your reasoning is top class.

Please continue :)

But if you can try and discuss City players or interested players every now and then that would be nice. As it almost feels as If you are here predominantly to fight with FCBarca.

:)
I post some praises in Bernardo thread but i will not talk about some other players i'm less familiar with.

I'm a huge Aguero fan though. My favorite striker of the last decade, even if Ibrahimovic made an huge impression at PSG.
And Mendy is kinda a meme for us in France. We consider him as a social media CM. Bit like Kimpembe is seen as a DJ. More potent off the field than in the field lately. But, understandably, i'll not come here to make some jokes about him.

So does benny
Ability needs hard work to get you to the top
Did Mendy play at World Cup it was he just in squad? Tbf Pogba played well at the World Cup. He also has a decent haul of medals from Juve. He’s shite at Utd but not necessarily shite as a player. He’s a cockwomble for sure

Considering we would have paid the stupid money if he had agreed to come here: This diatribe is quite absurd.

You have overpaid for a player when after buying him you find it impossible to sell him for the same amount or more. I.e. no one else valued him at that price.

For us Mangala is an example of an overvalued player. As no one will pay us 30 million for him. He lost about 80% of his value the day after we bought him. Countihno is another example of an overvalued player. Mbappe isn't. As someone (Madrid certainly, Barca and United likely to, and us possibly) will pay 200 million for his services if he were so inclined to move. So PSG did not overpay. He is expensive. Not overvalued.

He was ludicrously overpriced.

And who told you we were willing to pay it ?

In the market now, that same transfer at the same age would be more than 200 million. Why ? Because the price of everything went up, due to Mbappe's fee. That's why we are being asked to pay over 100 mil for a kid who has done very little.

Before Martial & Mbappe, he would have cost about 30, which is what he's worth gambling.

The market is ridiculous because of those transfers & Utd's.

If there's one thing Pep is probably the best manager on the planet at, it's developing a player. He sees potential in players, and he's very rarely mistaken (Bravo could, I suppose, be argued as a counter-example, but Bravo was already old, and so not a player who could be developed. He also came here with pretty glowing reports). How many players has he made better than they were when they first came under his wing?
I know almost nothing about this kid. I've seen the clips on Youtube, which should never be trusted, in my opinion. I've also read some of the stuff that's available on Google, like everyone. Also of limited value. That's about it.
But what I do trust, hugely, is Pep's judgement of a player. If he judges that the potential is there, he'll get Txixi (and behind him, the Sheik) to stump up the money. And it will be worth it.
Do we even know for a fact (rather than a newspaper rumour) that we're pursuing this lad?

No.

Who was right about the true cost of Pogba's transfer ?

We don't need to wait, it's me.

It was much more than 89 mil & his wages are stupid.

So he will need to go for something like double that, probably more.
No. Am I incorrect in thinking that you and @karen7 both said I was wrong when I said Utd will sell Pogba for more than the £89m they paid for him?? I’m not interested in ‘true cost’ and I am aware his wages are stupid. Rest assured he’ll go for more than £89m. I’m happy to wait until it happens and then re visit. I’m sure we won’t have long to wait.

At the moment every single transfer window

Which isnt actually that unusual. Players do arrive in waves. In 2003, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka all moved to the clubs which made them Ballon d'or winners and Messi made his breakthrough.

You think back to the previous generation and Figo moves in 95, Zidane moves in 96, Roberto Carlos in 96, Ronaldo in 96, Nedved in 96, Vieira in 96, Henry in 99, Shevchenko in 99 etc.

These are all players who a lot of people would think of as defining that early 00's generation and they all moved around the same time.

The idea that De Ligt, Mbappe, de Jong, Felix, and whoever the next one is etc can't all go on to become generation defining talents because they moved around the same time is just wrong, perhaps because people with short memories look back at the past decade as defined by 2 players and forget that it used to be much broader than that.

Ultimately I trust Pep's judgement. We know he wanted Mbappé and we failed to get him, we have pretty good sources saying he really wants Felix even at a huge price. That's enough for me.

I wonder will the decision as to where Felix goes depend on Sané’s future. Not in the sense that we have to sell to buy but if Sané stays then would Felix play less often with us than say Atletico.

All the same as an attacking player why would you want to play under Simeone. They are pretty turgid to watch.

Who's more believable Stuart Brennan or Sam Lee? They're essentially contradicting each other about Felix.

Speaking of Sam Lee, it looks like his twitter has been deleted. Or he's changed his account and I'm unaware.

I was hoping to see if he had any updated info on this.
