FIFA Women's WC France 2019

Just flicked over to the Scotland game and the commentators say " wonder how much time will be added on after all the penalty/VAR stuff" next thing ref blows with all the players (both sides) looking confused !

Utter stupidity from the keeper there. After the fiasco the other night you would think every keeper would be cautious about staying on their line... fucking hell.

Without looking down at their feet while the kick is being taken, how the hell can they? They can't just stand there, they'll never save a penalty again. It's a ridiculous enforcement of a rule that's not viable.

Keepers need to start practising now, rather then taking a couple of steps forward then diving, they just need to learn to dive. The keepers who start this now will have a much better chance than those who start in December, after they've had upteen retakes ordered against them .

You can see on the replay that she jumped a good yard off her line. That just doesn't happen instinctively, she knew what she was doing.

And they'll be facing shitloads for ball to hand... In the U21 game last night the keeper moved slightly off his line like they always have done but there was no retake
The keepers will always be slightly off their line, they need to gain momentum somehow. VAR is gonna be a nightmare. The defenders are gonna have to learn another way to stop the ball getting into the box.

Doesn't matter if it's a yard or an inch though, VAR will insist it's re-taken. It's not possible for them to be anchored to the line like that.

It's hard to break training habits, that have been picked up over many seasons.
She won't be the last keeper to get caught out.

It's about time they did something though, because I remember around 2005 Reina saved a Lampard penalty and he was almost on the six yard line when it was stuck and no retake was awarded .

I know they do but the stupid new rule won't allow them to. It'll lead to plenty of shock results too. It's not like you need to really stretch a defence or beat a man to get a pen you just need to get wide and blast it. If your luck is in you're getting a pen.

The frame before when initial contact was made was briefly shown which looked like her back foot was on the line. The next frame showed her off the line which is the one initially shown hence the retake. Meanwhile about 8 minutes of messing equals two minutes of injury time

with VAR now taking over with PEN'S and the keeper watch ?? what about the ball fully on the spot by the pen taker ??? i can see keepers putting on clown shoes about size 30 but the ball on the spot is crazy ?? having any part of the ball hanging over the spot is ok ??? football should look into the size of the pen spot and make it smaller
