This is very encouraging news for your club! It’s looking good for you’s, as it looks like you keeping most of your star players. It looks like you bringing in 4-5 top players too! You are going to be strong in all positions, with at least 2 top players in every position! Your chances of winning the league and champs league have gone up massively!

Think we have to add a few officials to the shopping list, before CL is viable chance.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but did Sterling not have less time remaining on his contract when he finally resigned after protracted negotiations?
Still time for Leroy to commit to City, just think it will be a case of him trying to maximise what he earns at City. He’ll know Sterling got a healthy pay rise, he may want to start the season all guns blazing to convince City he’s worth being one of the top earners.
Most players sign with between 24-18 months of their contract remaining. Some come down to 12 months.

I don’t know why people on here and starting to say “you don’t let a player go into the last two years of his contract” because that’s what happens with pretty much every single footballer.

Leroy when playing his A game is a thing of beauty. Not denying he blows hot and cold but even last season when he didn't start as many games as perhaps he wanted he still contributed massively with 16 goals and 18 assists. Sign the contract Leroy City fans love you.
He only started two fewer games than the year before.

And this is the difference between City and Bayern. With Bayern it’s always a circus played out in the media. And even though it can be frustrating at times because there are no transfers statements from City, City go about their transfer business quietly and respectfully.

On more thing.

F*** off Bayern, you German Rag t***’s!
There’s nowt wrong with what Bayern have done.

They’re a club from a lesser league who have to try anything to persuade a player to step down a level to go to them from a Prem club, one that’s won back-to-back Prem titles and has the best coach in the world.

It’s not like they’ve tapped him up. They’ve played it out in public. They obviously rate him really highly which is why they’ve pulled out all the stops to convince him.

It’s a compliment to Leroy and to us in the fact that we’ve got him, that they’ve done so much to try and persuade him to go there.

Their players and officials have been publically talking about signing a player contracted to Manchester City.

There are rules governing transfer negotiations. If a club wants to sign a player they must speak directly with that club and not to the player or his agent. I believe when a player enters the last 6 months of their contract they can talk to who they want.

In practise the rules maybe widely abused, but it seems that only a few clubs are ever penalised for infringing these rules.
