Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

I am sure they do. City is a bgger stage in world football now than Bayern Munich. Glasgow Celtic and Rangers used to be huge clubs with massive worldwide followings, but then their league slowly died. See also Serie A.
All three are still hugely supported clubs. I think it's fairly obvious that Sane wouldn't be rotated at Bayern. He'd play in every important game and would be the first name on the team sheet unless he was carrying an injury or had a dramatic loss of form. His next contract is the one that takes him up to his late 20's. I could understand easily why he'd like to be first choice on (probably) 3-400k a week in the biggest team in his home country.

If Sane starts to listen to Pep he would get more games. He just doesn’t like listening and does his own thing. That would be ok with some managers given his quality but not Pep.

Some growing up to do but it looks like that might be elsewhere in the end. Such a shame. Still hoping there is a way around this. Sane is also losing a lot of money every week in the short term unless we’ve agreed to backdate any signature.

None of us know the deal that has been offered by City to Leroy. I can understand Leroy wants to be paid the same as Sterling. If City are not prepared to do that then in my opinion it is not right. It is also not right if Leroy wants more money than Sterling because he hasn’t performed and featured as much. Whilst this situation is unresolved it could have a negative vibe around the squad. It needs to be sorted as a matter of urgency.

It didn't get sorted that quickly with Sterling & we seemed to do ok though.

You don’t think it’s urgent then with the new season approaching? The pay structure of the club is more important than one player. He has great potential Leroy but if he doesn’t want to stay let him go and get a good fee considerably more fee than what we paid.

No.

Not at all. We won two titles during Sterling's contract negotiations.

My only concern is that Leroy is happy here & doesn't ask to leave. Otherwise I don't care at this stage.

During Sterling’s negotiations no other club was influencing as much. This situation is different with Bayern behaving as they are. I hope City are offering the correct pay for Leroy, none of us know. If they are and he doesn’t sign sell him.

I’m not very confident he’s going to stay. We may get another year out of him but would be surprised if it’s any longer.
Would be a shame, though not the catastrophe some would have you believe.

I’m not convinced City will let it drag on until next summer. I hope not. It’s getting a bit boring. Definitely not a catastrophe as you say, Leroy is not a complete player
By any means and appears to have a questionable attitude. For him to reach the very top ( world class) this will have to change

It's a pity that nobody has started a rumour that psg are going to sell neymar back to Barca and then offer City £150m for Sane. Bayern would have to either have a shit or get off the potty. Offering half that amount would just make them look silly.

I don’t know what Bayern have offered City. If they offered 75 million for Sane I’d take it. He is worth a little more but not too much more as it stands. Potentially a lot more but Leroy needs to work harder in terms of his game and mentality. How many times has Leroy been substituted and Pep says nothing to him when he leaves the field. Pep knows there is more but can’t get him to do it. If the greatest manager in the world is unable to do this who can. I saw Pep shouting at him on the touch line last season because he wants a better work rate. I trust City to do the right thing for the club.

I've just been sick a little bit in my mouth.

Are you David Dickinson by any chance?

Likewise. The Bayern issue aside, the lad’s currently on £60k a week. He was made a £150k a week offer by all accounts almost a year ago. There comes a point when by continuing to not sign he is actually going to be worse off financially even if he were to suddenly then accept an improved offer.
I don’t necessarily think he’s impatient to leave, but I do think he’s (or someone in his party is) actively encouraging Bayern behind the scenes, and they’re hoping he’ll eventually hand in a request so they can lowball us like the twats they are
