We could low ball them and get a potential world beater for peanuts on loan.

Sure, he's 30 and injury prone, but by all accounts he's a good lad. He just needs to lose a lot of body mass. There's still an amazing player in him.

That was 24hrs ago and i didn't read the wrong to think he is staying line,that seems to have been added
 
How exactly is he playing us, and what would he be gaining by that?

If he wants to leave, surely the quicker the better, and admiting it would only speed it up. Or, if he wants to stay longer than 2 forseeable years, the sooner he signs tge quicker he sratts earning more. I don't see what waiting does for him, if he does want to leave, whereas if he wants to stay, it increases the chances of a bettet deal, or clarity on his playing time.
It gets him the move he wants without the complication of a fee being involved, think back to James Milner. As good a player as he is we cannot let him go for nothing.
