will those checks record illegal immigrant stowaways and unrecorded smuggled goods?
Right. There's nothing to stop anyone breaking the law. It's as though you're trying to argue people don't attempt a degree of smuggling anywhere. We have a system in place for such occurrences: fines and punishment.

Stowaways. Millions of them. Ireland is an island, People entering Eire will have been checked. Remind me: How do you get a job in the UK? A flat to rent? Any sort of government assistance? A doctor's appointment? A driving licence?

we are where we are because of immigration and control of our borders. If you are suggesting we sub contract the control of our UK/EIRE border to the EIRE immigration authorities we are back where we started about 120 pages ago. How is ceding the responsibility to a foreign power taking back control?

No ID needed if you're willing to work for £2 an hour and live 10 to a room.

The EU assumption in a no deal scenario to avoid a hard border is that the UK will unilaterally allow NI to have separate arrangements to GB which will effectively be a NI/EU Customs Union. That would bring down the Tory government overnight because they would have sold the DUP down the river. In other words there’s no chance of No Deal and any threat of it is totally empty.

Why would they smuggle themselves into ‘civic, progressive, inclusive’ Eire just to illegally move to the ‘hateful, unwelcoming, and regressive’ United Kingdom. Crazy.

That is your view on things not necessarily theirs - you are looking outward and not trying to understand the motivation of the people making that journey.

We'll expand the airfield near Dundalk and build a one way motorway to Newry? Just a suggestion tbf but it makes as much sense as the shit the Brexit shower come out with.

How many UK companies will suddenly register their HQ in Belfast in the next few months?

Fines and punishment are applied when law breaking is identified. If there are not sufficient protocols to to prevent the vast majority of transgressions that is just hooey. There are ever increasing punishments announced for using your mobile whilst driving - matters not because they cannot be implemented because there are too few traffic cops to catch the transgressors..............we all see this day after day yet the govt assure us they are taking steps to stop it with more and more sanctions.

At the moment the channel is the preferred way in it seems - there are boats found daily however if we reveal a soft underbelly by relying on a 3rd party to police our borders miles and miles away what do you think will be the traffickers approach?

This woman is 70. This woman represents the average Brexit voter demographic who doesn't get that they regurgitate lies. This woman is clueless.

Clueless - quite. Belgium published the following as the main reason for a steep increase in its population:
  • 82.5 % of the growth rate can be explained by the positive net migration: more immigrations than emigrations (+44,536 persons in 2017)

errr.................not sure of the point you are attempting to make

The backstop will be clarified as a commitment to alternative arrangements for the border and we all live happily ever after.
Yep - that border issue and the GFA have just been conveniently weaponised by the EU - there will be a miraculous reduction in the level to which it is deemed to be so 'insurmountable' - when it suits

Having read the last few pages with interest as each side develops its argument one thing strikes me. It is how trade has dominated the argument over people.

It does come across that the people of Northern Ireland have almost assumed second class citizenry and their needs/desires/votes/wants are being ignored. I don't blame leavers or remainers for this I blame the idiots who set up the referendum without considering the issues that could arise through devolution of powers and the importance of the GFA to them.

If the price of leaving the EU is throwing the people of NI to the wolves then is it really worth it?
