Donald Trump

He hasn’t read it. I think he’s quoting someone who has and is saying there’s nothing in it.
I haven't seen the original tweet yet - just the overview on Google (as I can't see Twitter in work).

I too have no idea what 'There There' means either. However, I have read the Muller Report, and it is pretty damn clear that Trump and the transition team knew full well what was going on, and obstructed or attempted to obstruct justice in the subsequent enquiry.

Someone who knows they haven't done anything wrong would simply not lie about what they did.

I am at a loss as to what facts I've quoted out of context. It goes without saying what the job is of people in Congress. Of course, they can vote as they please. But others can point out how they've voted.

They voted against the bill because they decided anything that helps border patrolling hurts their overall goal. Which is to be Anti-ICE, Anti-Borders, and anti-border security.

So any appropriation that helps those things are a No No, even if it will also provide the relief that will prevent children from getting sick and dying. Sadly, dying children and children living in filth is better for their politics than money to relief such condition if that money also improves Border Security.

They are in fact doing the very thing many here have condemned the administration of doing. I.e. attempting to use appropriation as a tactic. Just like the administration is supposedly using 'separation' as a tactic.

However, unlike "separation'' there is no other practical value to attempting to withhold appropriation. Other than to increase the sufferings of the innocent for the purpose of personal propaganda. But if you know of any other practical purpose that I'm missing. I'm all ears.

But I digress. All this is for a different thread about politics in America, which I keep confusing this thread for. Only to be reminded this really isn't a thread about politics at all. It's a thread about bashing Trump.

We should start an American politics thread. A place for those who'd like to debate the actual facts, theories and ideologies of left, right and center American politics. But just like actual appropriation for Border expenditure, I'm sure it won't be popular.

Who is "anti-Borders"? What does that even mean?

This is a "Trump bashing" thread because most decent, law-abiding human beings don't like leaders who are amoral or immoral and don't like being lied to.

Get it through your skull: that is MORE IMPORTANT to many people than "policies" because its MORE IMPORTANT in our every day human relationships than what we "get out" of people.

Why is that so difficult to understand?

I'm happy to participate in an American politics thread.

it means they are against the existence of borders and the idea of immigrants.

And this would be fine on points that are lies. But on points that aren't. That too should be fine to point out.

What I am trying to impart on you ( and more so others here) is that even while being angry and rightfully bashing, doing so with truth and facts are important. Or else all we'd have are a bunch of whining hypocrites. Only if you could get that into your through your skull. We'd all be better off, no?

So am I, I was just lamenting how unpopular such a thread would be.

Trump is a uneducated bully. He panders to those who hang around with bullies for fear of being bullied. The idiots on here who defend him are trolls and should really know better. If the world were full of trumps then idiots would be walking into walls looking for doors.

Who disagrees that truth and facts are important? Other than the President, I mean.

We ARE all a bunch of hypocrites. It's inherent in human nature; every person on earth by definition sees the trees not the forest because one's worldview is without exception constricted by space, time and biology.

The whining part depends on the person.

No one is defending him -- I don't think I've seen a single post doing that, certainly not in months. The few who seem to be are really attacking others for attacking him. It's how they get their kicks, or they're defending themselves because they know they were wrong about Trump but they're too embarrassed to admit it . . . or pot-committed to their own political ideology. It's called anchoring in parlance I believe.

Knowing this, then dissent and counterviews should not only be tolerated, it should be constantly sought.

As for who else disagree with that truth and facts are important? You should read this thread.

Dissent and counter view conversations START with the basic premise that we operate at roughly similar stages of moral reasoning. If not, we are speaking different languages.

I have read the thread. Just not sure to what/whom you are referring. We've all accepted certain news items fed to us at face value and been wrong later when they proved false.

And what the fuck exactly is that?

Read Kohlberg. Here's a good link. https://www.simplypsychology.org/kohlberg.html

Not trying to be pedantic -- it's back to the old personality vs. policy discussion we had previously in terms of the starting point for gauging the effectiveness of Trump as a leader. For some, the practical outcomes of policy are more important as a gauge than anything else. But not for me -- especially when much of that policy is motivated by what I see as a hyper-cynical amorality and/or desperate narcissism, which I see as both incredibly dangerous as well as inconceivably selfish.

The construct also helps get at Trump himself. It shouldn't be too much to ask of an elected leader that he or she places on the upper end of the Kohlberg moral development scale. Not only is it not too much to ask -- it's imperative.

It would be. And I doubt many would argue against that.

But as you can see from my response, my objection wasn't to what Trump was or wasn't.

Rather, I was objecting to the fallacious claim that nothing in the tweet was true. As that could not be farther from the truth.
Did you vote for him?

I won't be watching, as it will just boil my piss with the constant interruptions and objections.

Yes, I think that's a fair comment. From the Kavanaugh hearing, I expect the Democrats to be asking questions to see if Mueller will say something interesting, and the Republicans to hector and rant, while actually avoiding the matter in question. All of them will suffer because Mueller is smarter and sharper than them.

Meanwhile, a week in the life and lies of Trump:
