Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

And how the fuck do you know Munich wouldn't pay £120m, in today's market Leroy is worth more than that.
Because their starting offer is €85m, as they’ve reminded us roughly once a day. Expecting them to go from €85m to £120m is not realistic in my opinion. Haven’t we even heard rumblings that the asking price is only £100?

To me it seems that Leroy really hasn't decided up to now and that's why Bayern are waiting to bid
and City can do nothing else than repeat and repeat we want him to stay.

to me its the other way round sane wants out sadly and city want their price and rightly so

days are gone when you can bully city into selling a player and the market value for is is based on the time at city and silverware and titles won, sane would cost city (£200million) if we was wanting to buy him from munich, its simple

A club like City don't let a £100 mill plus asset sit and become worthless and take a valuable squad place, they would take as much as they can and move on.

so lets get mugged off by munich then ????

city are now top dog's and don't get done in the transfer market anymore, and to a club like munich is like selling your soul to the devil, thye really are a dirty bunch of ****s that have been the main players in the FFP leaks ?? and now they want to build bridges and buy one of our players on the cheap, come on please

No player in this position says anything,if he did it would only be i'm happy here but football can change blah blah,he is doing nothing wrong,he is getting stuck into pre-season and we'll find out more when they get back to Manchester

You are perfectly right Karen.

I was replying that the fuss is genuinely coming from a situation that make us fans ill at ease. It would be easier if another club was also bidding for Sané, this way we could set our price.

Bayern haven't made a bid yet. That report by Romano was a load of rubbish.

If he said he wasn't going to extend and wanted do you think we'd turn down £120 mill ?

football does not run like that ?? and clubs should not be that daft to let it happen to a talent they have on their books, city are in the middle of upgrading his contract and sane has never come out and said he wants to leave, until he comes out and says he wants to leave then the ball is in city court

I didn’t say they have.

"Because their starting offer is €85m" - they've said nothing about this being their starting offer. There's just been a false report that they've bid this much.

Bayern will full well know that they'll be looking at a £100m+ fee for Sane. Their issue is getting him to agree to join them, rather than what they'd pay us.

Why sign a long-term contract now when you might have an even better season and win the Champions League to boot, at which point your stock goes up and your bargaining position is stronger? All hypothetical of course.
And why sign the prime of your life away to a manager who has issues with you (at best) and who leaves you on the bench, subs you on on 90 minutes and subs you off first. Whilst you're being paid much less than you could earn elsewhere?

Just playing devil's advocate here.

If Pep had played Sané more often, I don't think this thread would exist, he'd have re-signed ages ago.

He’s definitely worth more than £100.

You’re not his agent, perchance?
Just checking.:-)

Think the opening month will be interesting to watch as Sane, presuming he stays, should feature prominently and make his case stronger.

The public courting of Leroy Sané by Bayern Munich is irking Pep Guardiola, who had hoped for a greater level of respect from his former employers. Leroy Sané's girlfriend Candice Brook, is becoming increasingly vocal in the situation too. [@Jack_Gaughan]

Bayern Munich are willing to pay Leroy Sané more than £200,000 a week. His mum, Regina Weber, has proven obstructive in contract negotiations over extending a deal that runs until 2021 and Sane is unlikely to sign.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has started fundamental negotiations with Manchester City for Leroy Sané during their US tour. Bayern will work on the transfer again in the coming days. City want a decision before August 8th. [@SPORTBILD via @iMiaSanMia]
If even Bayern is willing and able to outbid us regarding salary perhaps we need to review and adapt our wagestructure. It seems to be the explanation why we cannot sign quite a few players these days (DeLigt for example). Whether we like it or not biggest money buys the best players and we seem to allow the cartel clubs to reestablish the old order where they would get the best players. Eventually they will overtake us again on the field if this continues.

Some of us aren't "Ill at ease" about it, I'm more than happy to let it play out, and comfortable that the club will only sell if they think the price is correct. bayern think they can bully us into selling on the cheap, they can't, we won't allow it.

We won't change so that is wishful thining,we are doing fine buying for the team not the billy bollocks players who expect to come in on kev level wages, the days of us paying anyone new what they want is over
