Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

I reckon if he's in the squad, that's enough. Pep would drop him like a shot if Sane approached City and said he wanted to leave.

I'd have thought he'd start against Liverpool.

Might be though the only reason he is starting is because Sergio is not back.
Sterling playing a different role.
I see no real evidence so far to start with him once the squad is back to full strength.
Running out of time to impress.

This appears to me to be an unconventional transfer because Bayern look like they are trying to get him out of City by the back-door. They appear to be trying to present City with a fait accompli whereby a player who has not signed his contract extension suddenly goes to City, demands a transfer, and City are faced with either agreeing and taking £80-£90m now or half that in 12 months time. I think City know exactly what is going on, indeed I get the feeling that it is Bayern who are going to be the losers in this, because they have spent an entire Summer pursuing this project, and at the moment it seems like they are going to be unsuccessful.

It’s not necessarily the case that we would get half as much in 12 months. That would be true if only Bayern remain interested in him. But If he stays and has a good season he might be worth more in 12 months if say RM also joined in the bidding. Arsenal got a huge amount of stick for allowing Sanchez to run down his contract but in the end they got a decent amount for him because united turned it into an auction.

There may be good reasons for allowing Leroy to leave, if he’s unhappy. But I don’t think the decision should be based on how much more we might get now rather than in 12 months

Was Sanchez not a straight swap with Mkhitaryan? Wouldnt really call that a decent deal to be honest. Plus we had £60m agreed in August, only for £20m to be enough 5 months later (pre-Utd's ridiculous salary offer kybosh, thankfully)

On a swap Uefa value the players at the cost of the other team purchase price so Arsenal might have lost more on the swap? have not looked it up , but made more on wage and sell on fees

I’m surprised none of our resident ITK people are not clued up to what is happening here.
