Manchester City insist nothing has changed with Leroy Sané as excitement grows around the Bayern Munich camp that a deal can be struck. City insist that they have not received an offer for the player, contrary to reports in Germany.MEN
Our journo's are being very quiet,it is a big transfer so they would be all over it,all we are hearing is the bayern end

The only reason he doesn't start for us, is we continually play Bernado in not his best position on the right.

If we played Bernado or David Silva in the middle, behind the front 3, then we'd automatically play Sane on the left and Sterling on the right (and Aguero in the middle obviously).

Clearly Sterling prefers the left, but he's very effective on the right and that front 3; Sane - Aguero - Sterling is our best line up imo.

Sane is a world-class left winger but Pep likes to play with a fluid front four who can rotate positons. Bernardo can play right, left, or number 10; Sterling can play right, centre, left, and (at a pinch) number 10; Sergio and Jesus have both learned to play left, right, and centre; Mahrez can play left, right, or number 10; even Foden can play left, right, or number 10. Sane can really only play left wing and, so far, has not really adapted. That's why Pep is always shouting at him. I think Sane is fantastic but if he doesn't change he will remain as a "super-sub."

I honestly think that Bayern Munich being the c**ts they are will wait until our transfer window is shut before they place a bid for Leroy.

Think about it from their perspective....why would they do that? What do they have to gain?

City would be well within their rights to either charge them significantly more or flat out reject any offer that leaves City unable to replace Sané.

Our front 3 really don't rotate that much in games, I'm not sure where you've got that. Sané and Sterling have actually swapped wings in the middle of games for 10 minutes or so far more often than Bernardo has ended up on the left or Sergio or Jesus have been out wide.

Always a problem when our transfer window shuts nearly 3 weeks before the rest of Europe (except Italy). Will be difficult in such a short time to get a replacement for a player in the same calibre as Sane.
I think there should be a common date for closure of the window. The season probably starts too early anyway when you factor in international tournaments causing players to arrive late for preseason.

Pep was in favour, bizarrely, as he said it's better to know what your squad will be once the season starts.

So Bayern have 'til next weekend to get a pathetic bid in for refusal.

Exactly, because it's Arsenal.

I don't think Bayern have any interest in paying the going rate for Sané.

Of course they do. They wouldn't have been courting him all summer without realistically knowing what it would take to get him.

They've briefed the press countless times that they'll pay what it takes and have the money. They're desperate.

It's all down to Leroy and people are setting themselves up for disappointment if they don't think Bayern will bid £100m+ if he tells them he wants to join.

Why is it taking him so long ?

We will have to disagree. From where I sit the front three are always swapping positions, even Sergio. It bamboozles me as much as our opponents. The number 8 (KDB) and number 10 (David Silva) often swap as well. And our fullbacks move into midfield all the time. For me it's just an extension of the total football practiced by Cruyff and developed by Pep. Sane does switch to the right sometimes but is not as comfortable as Sterling is. I agree that Bernardo rarely plays on the left but, for me, he is our best player and can play anywhere. He was fantastic in defensive midfield at Anfield and also, for some of the match, at Old Trafford. He could also easily play fullback!

I don't understand why people have this paranoia about Bayern paying a fair price for Sané.

Their recent history suggests they don't mind paying proper prices, but even if that weren't true, what has given you the impression Khaldoon is going to let them take the piss? This isn't selling off Bony or Adebayor, this is a young, in demand kid on tiny wages and 2 years left.

The club will have a price they find acceptable, and if Bayern don't pay, they won't get him.

You often see Sergio on the left wing, do you? I must be watching different games.

Why is it taking him so long ?

Maybe because it's a big decision and these things take time? If he definitely wanted to stay these rumours would have been squashed ages ago.

There's no smoke without fire and there's a good chance things are progressing, as some fairly reliable sources are starting to say negotiations are starting. This wouldn't be happening without some indication from Sane's camp.

Think about it...

They weaken us and strengthen themselves. That's if we do sell of course.
We may well end up meeting them in the CL

“We are a football club. We have reached a limit with €80 million, and I don’t think that we’ll exceed that in future transfers.” Uli Hoeness.

“We’re not playing Monopoly here,"

Pretty much all of my posts are saying I don't believe City will allow Bayern, to take the piss, in reply to people who think we are Southampton.

No club has ever taken a senior player from City against our wishes.

Yes, great idea, that.

Lets risk going into the season with 1 fit winger just incase City a)Decide to sell to us after their window has shut and B) we might possibly play each other.

What is this paranoid bullshit?

There is almost ALWAYS smoke without fire.

Sané has two years left on his contract & nobody has any right to order him to do anything other than his job.

"I don't want to buy a player for 80 or 100 million. But if you want to keep up with Manchester City, Liverpool or Barcelona, then you sometimes have to do things that I don't like,"
