Would be interesting to hear the thoughts of @Maldeika .

She doesn't appear to post as much these days.

I am already tired of all of this and all of the media bullocks around it. Transfer season is not my season...

I am not keen on Sane for that transfer costs and the wages as I think that that will start trouble in a dressing room that functions very well. But I am aware that the team still needs a good winger and probably 2 other players to go through this season successfully.

Sane is a great player - but a player with issues - that is why Pep does not play him the way he could play him. The media and a couple of fans make him to the superstar he is not - just to turn it totally and find all the mistakes as soon he would be a Bayern player. I do not think that he can fulfill what you expect for that kind of transfer sum and wage.

Bayern needs a winger or even two - because Coman and Gnabry cannot be trusted to be fully available all season. Qualitywise we already got a very good first attack. Last season they had 52 goals in the last 17 matches - and if Lewy and Müller would have converted their chances in their usual way it should have been 10 more. Bayern has a first eleven - even a first 16 that is fully able to compete internationally - but as soon some key players get injured (and the wingers are that important) the problems really will arise. There is young ones that show potential - but they are still far away from the quality of the team players.

I just do not know if there is much choice for a club with this market and the players available. Dribbling is not dribbling - very often the players that are told to be good dribblers are only able to do it with speed and room. When I scan the market I do not see other players either.

I don't think most people make him out to be a superstar. We see the potential that he has, and it is immense. He is a get-you-off-your seat kind of player. We have so, so many great players in our squad that make your jaw drop every game, but there is honestly nobody in our team that gets me more excited than Leroy. He is so direct and, on his day, he can win big matches himself. What we don't know is whether he has the mentality to fully reach his potential. He doesn't strike me as another Balotelli, I think he is far more mature and reserved. But he does have a tattoo of himself, he was dropped from the German squad, and he was left out of our squad numerous times last season when it was hard to understand why.

He may never reach his full potential, but I would prefer he stay here for another season to see if he can turn it around. If he does go to Bayern, it may be the best choice for him and I would wish him nothing but success. He hasn't said a single bad word about the club throughout this whole process. I think he's made his decision to go but he respects City and our fans too much to go public before it's official. I wish it wasn't so, but I can't understand anyone having ill feelings towards him because of it. He's won us massive games and it doesn't seem like he's tried to do anything to screw City out of getting proper value for him.

And after nearly a thousand pages now this is just about the whole story.

According to all these arrogant messages we should bleed them dry as much as we can.
No Bayern haven't been arrogant have they, who was it that said we will definitely sign Leroy, was that Kovac. They have been talking about our player now in the press for ages, they deserve to be bled dry, besides Leroys valuation is correct.

tbh gone are the days we lose someone we don't want to and have to buy bargain basement signings to cover.if he leaves im pretty sure they have other plans to alleviate him going

People need to take a step back from the situation. Most of this thread is people talking like he's already gone when in reality the facts suggest he's more likely to stay than leave. There's a bit too much unwarranted panic and pessimism.

We know that:
a) Sané won't leave unless he says he wants to leave
b) Sané hasn't said he wants to leave

If two days before the season starts Sané still hasn't indicated he wants to leave this window, will he ever? I doubt it personally. I think he knows he's got it good here.

No use calling him every name under the sun and saying you're not sorry to see him leave when there's still a good chance you'll be watching him every week for the next nine months.

The contract mechanics seem to be pretty fair as you say, half way through the parties agree to extend or the player is sold for a fair price. Doing a Milner/Gundogan run down is clearly not a happy situaton for the club or manager but they are both at a different career stage. If Leroy is trying to follow that path he needs to be sold now at the highest possible price we can rinse out of his conspirators.

When are we heading to London?

Huh, didn’t know we left from Stockport!

There is no 32 point gap. That was last season. Thus is this. I'm sure we had a similar gsp on Liverpool 2 years ago. It shrank to 2 point after one season.

Everyone starts with Zero
Couldn’t disagree more. Of course there’s a gap. Our mean level in the last two seasons is 99 points. That’s the level other teams need to improve to if they want to challenge us.

Liverpool closed that gap last season by spending £250m rather well, winning dodgy penalties, scoring 11 offside goals and winning four games in the last few minutes due to keepers throwing it in their own net. And fair play to them for doing all of the above.

If united want to challenge then they must also bridge the gap between their recent level and points tallies and those of City, assuming City continue to perform at our previous levels, to which nothing suggests we won’t.

Yesterday we heard Pep say, "If he knocks on my door, and says he wants to leave, then OK we will talk, but nobody has told me that."

The interest / pressure will never be higher than at this moment, so if he's involved against Liverpool, we can be very confident that he will remain a Manchester City player.

I think he will get a great reception from City supporters - assuming he is there.
