Community shield Post match thread

What do you put it down to,Ken?

not that sure, maybe it was intentional, maybe fitness lvl, maybe some tactical changes from Liverpool and we couldn´t answer to it.You have to be honest ,that they had way too many chances in the second half and surprisingly more ball possesion than we did.Im sure Pep knows the best ,what was the cause and we are much better ,when we play them again in November.

They have played 7 games to our 4th,they are way ahead of us and the trips we have made have been very draining and somewhat ridiculous, pep didn't make enough subs,we were always going to tire before them,as often happens when dave went off we lost control as well

Yeah you may be right,i hope so.Think we shoudl be much better in 2 weeks time, when we play tottenham, cause im pretty sure ,that we can handle West Ham even if we are not anywhere near our best.

Silva off and Gundogan on at 61 mins was the start of it and then when we were tired they chucked 3 subs on at 79 mins replacing that uselsss twat Origi as well. They had about 6 attempts in the last 10 mins or so.

I can only think Pep wanted more minutes in our legs after 2 absolutely nothing games in HK and Japan. He wants 9/10 fully up to speed for next week I think.

I see Liverpool fans have penned an open letter to Jacob Rees Mogg justifying the booing of the National anthem.
It is victimhood beyond belief and sets their eternal grief culture apart from everyone else.
Just put these whinging c*nts back in their place again this season, City.

This is Pep’s 4th season and he won nothing in the first one, 2 in the second, a glorious 4 last year and 1 yesterday. 7 out of the last 8.
My mistake. I thought we'd won 3 charity shields in row. Arsenal Chelsea and now Liverpool. 2 league and league cup doubles back to back and the 1 FA cup

At the end of the day we lifted the shield that they really wanted to and the twats that follow that absolute shit stain of a club are gutted.

They are.

They've spent the whole day on social media and YouTube talking amongst themselves, about how we "technically" won it, but they were the better team, Pep's an arsehole, they've got under our skin....waffle, dither and fudge.

We have to,need to get up to great start and beat Tot at home in the second game of the season, that would be an excellent start.

In all the match reports i have read not one mention of our four absentees (possibly five with a fully fit Mendy) just the fact that Mane was a massive miss for the Dippers , really weird how the media twist everything to the Dippers advantage . We are continually under estimated despite our club breaking nearly every domestic record going , and it will not change this season , when we are at full strength and barring any pre match coach attacks the Dippers simply can't live with us.

The best thing to do is ignore it. I don’t listen to talk sport, don’t read shit papers and don’t bother with Social Media. It saves a lot of angst over biased media. They will never change

Aye, for a load of fans who apparently no interest in winning it they've really spent a lot of time dwelling on it. Also that we celebrated the win too much but not enough. I also love the 'in their heads' line, so rattled we got 4 points off them and went on astonishing run of games without dropping a point while they let a 7 point lead slip. You know what? They can be in our heads rent free if it drives is to greatness, it's not like we need the rent money.

Claudio Bravo, I salute you!

We were okay first half, started the second half well, missed some stupid and easy chances and then faded very badly.

We look well unfit and it should be four hard days of fitness works this week.

But we won the shield, that’s 7 in two years.....

SEVEN!
Claudio's best game for us by a long way. We schooled Liverpool first half. Second half they were always going to come back at us. Make no mistake, despite all the pundits 'it doesn't matter/not important' comments, Liverpool were desperate to win yesterday. We should have been 3/4 nil up and after that Liverpool could have had one or two, but we were pretty tenacious in defence.

Rio made the most hypocritical comments. Comm Shield doesn't matter/not important. Important enough for Rio and co to accept the punditry gig though. BT will not be happy with pundits trying to downgrade their coverage - merely because the media didn't get the result they wanted.

Had Liverpool won, the media would have gone on and on about psychological blows, been found out, flaws exposed, end of an era etc. I'm still laughing. Normally, I'd have been there, but we spent the weekend in Kent seeing our new granddaughter for the first time. Watched it on tv. What a weekend !!!!
