No but 36% of MEPs including your UKIP ones might, or a third of the commission, if they don't believe there's a workable way forward.

The way forwards has been under discussion for a while now.

It involves no hard border, ever and minimum checks at the ports and other facilities but im not one to ever say i told you so, so i will sit back and watch it all unfold.

That was the NI only backstop. The DUP said no unfortunately and the Tories kowtowed to them.

No, the closer we get to October 31st with Johnson acting the ****, the closer and more likely no deal gets.

No he is not he is acting like a prime minister and trying to respect the result and not show any weakness. Up until now you may as well of been negotiating with a aunt sally in a remain t shirt.

Acting like a **** may mean we get a result and a deal for all sides. Being a fanny has not worked has it?

And I love it how it’s ok for the eu to play hardball , remember withdrawal agreement before a trade deal can be discussed or no talks at all.nope that’s the rules. Should have been told to fuck off at that point,

We are not reopening the backstop even though our own parliament have rejected it three times but it’s ok for the eu to say no that’s it tough. End of. Not reopening it. Nope never.

Eu can play hardball, uk do it we are cunts

We are about 10 weeks away from avoiding no deal and the eu need to start showing a bit more sensitivity and flexibility to the border issue otherwise your worst fears might be realised .

Up until now they have known aunt sally would back down and concede , now they have a different animal to deal with.

Because that would also tie the rest of the UK into a customs union. The UK isn't 4 countries, it's one country and NI. Scotland is not an independant country, is it, so stop referring to it as such. Scotland voted as part of Great Britain. It's about as relevant as pointing out London was mostly for remain. It disrespects the other regions that voted to leave overwhelmingly.

And the Scots being told they are ‘just another region of England’ cranks up the independence vote another notch. Well played.

This.

Then Johnson should stop all the nonsense about no deal, remove the red lines and ask the EU for an extension so that we can negotiate what changes are required to the WA based on a Canada agreement in the future. He would have to involve cross party though if he want to get it through the HoC.
No deal isn't nonsense, it's the default position come October 31st 2019.

The red lines are already "removed" when May stepped down, the EU wants to know what Johnsons red lines are, if any, but nobody knows for certain yet, but people tend to speculate.

As Kevin Horlocks Wand has already pointed out, no deal made between BoJo and the EU will ever pass the HoC anyway because Parlaiment is filled with remainer MP's who want to stop brexit and Labour and the SNP will never back a deal that makes BoJo look good by "delivering" brexit. The whole of Parliament is to blame for this mess, their pointless squabbles, petty arguments, biased agendas and political rivalries.

They've ALL forgotten that reaching a successful conclusion to brexit is and should be their main concern, but their political alliegience and stance of brexit refuses to allow them to achieve this.

You're not reopening anything until you've a government with a vision supported by a majority of parliament as it's a waste of time. Even then, for the backstop to go some of your red lines will have to change. The backstop after all was a UK idea to sort out the contradictions caused by your red lines.

The EU will show flexibility if the Irish signal they will do so. But the EU will not pressure Dublin on the matter. If it ends in no deal then it ends in no deal but the key to unlocking the backstop lies in Dublin not Brussels. Right now Dublin won’t budge. Politically I doubt if it could if it wanted to anyway. Which it doesn’t.

There are not any red lines we have a new pm
There isn’t a backstop clause because there is no deal. It was rejected.

In summary, the road network of the UK is not quite as indispensable to the RoI as some would have us believe.
In terms of pure travel times maybe not BUT the big ships travel less often than the small ships, so you might have delays in getting your goods transit started. Miss the ferry and the next one's tomorrow. On a shorter journey there'll be another in a few hours. Then there's cost and weather disruptions to consider.

You can ask GDM for the first one.

If he wants a new deal he can make some fresh concessions instead of demanding unicorns. That's how this works. He and the Tories have created a situation whereby there's quite a few EU countries happy to see a no deal. Any new negotiations will require a significant extension which will require significant signs that something will change. Rabbiting on about technology that doesn't exist and won't in the next decade and leaving on October 31st at all costs and then turning around and asking for an extension won't work.
"He and the Tories".

It's the whole of Parliament that has created this situation. The Tories could come back with a deal that 90+% of the public would support, the opposition of the HoC wouldn't.

Johnson has specifically requested the WA without the backstop. If he has different red lines he should come out and say so. Then we could see if he had any chance of getting a parliamentary majority. Instead he's called a recess and gone electioneering.

Spot on.

See traffic jams around Dublin port and on English motorways.

If Brussels won’t pressure Dublin on the matter then we don’t need to worry about a hard border then do we. It’s a matter between Dublin and the uk and both sides have said no border.

Jobs a good un where do we sign,....

And that's why they should be working cross party instead of voting in a far right cabinet that can't even command the support of their own parliamentary party.
