Gender pay gap in football

They have got further than the mens team in competitions involving the NATIONAL team, this is what the thread is about,NATIONAL NOT CLUBS

in a less popular, less commercial and less talented World Cup full of essentially amateur level teams which earns a fraction of the revenue of the men's counterpart. It's a completely different sport which generates it's own revenues and they should be paid a percentage based on what they generate, like everyone else in the real world.

Once the women's World Cup generates the same revenues as the men's World Cup, then women's national teams can demand the same cut as the men's teams do. Until then, it's just hysterical entitlement.

Assistants don't paid the same as executives just because they work under the same umbrella organisation. Women's football and men's football are different divisions, different sports and generate different revenues to the umbrella organisation. It's absurd to suggest they should be paid the same when one does a much better job at bringing in the dosh than the other. It's the same principle at national level as at club level. In reality, the US women have probably ended up earning more than the men because they won the World Cup and the men didn't qualify so didn't get a share of the World Cup earnings, which is fair. Had the men qualified though, they deserve more because they are bringing in more revenue from FIFA for the men's World Cup so deserve to be remunerated accordingly.

Clearly the mens game is much bigger than the womens game,if it was down to you it will stay that way

That’s rubbish.

It’s took nearly 150 years for the men’s game to get where it is.

Whilst the women’s game has done incredibly well it’s in its infancy, especially from a revenue point and they too need to grow their product and create the demand.

Demanding otherwise is not on.

This thread was about the US women wanting to be paid the same, they won the world cup,the men weren't even in it,if the men qualify next time and get knocked out in the groups and the women do better they shouldn't be paid less, the mens game is not the be all and end all,Whoever does better for the national team deserve better pay than those who achieve less, womens football has to be allowed to grow
