We're obviously going to lose this test and the chance to regain the Ashes with it, but I would just like to see a bit of fight and a degree of intelligence when playing shots.

At the very least, keep the Aussie bowlers out there for as long as possible and try, if that's possible after what has gone before, to make things respectable.

Sadly I am still expecting a flurry of wickets and for England to quickly find themselves 5 or 6 down in the next half hour or so. Hope I am wrong.

Playing as captain, he’s on the brink of losing his sixth Ashes test in eight matches. He’s a shite captain.

Can you believe that England are currently only 11/4 to win this test match? To put that in perspective, if I’m not mistaken England have never successfully chased down 350+ in the 4th innings in the entire history of test cricket.

Tell you summat though, if we’re 320-3 tomorrow when City are about to kick off against Bournemouth, I’m sacking off watching that and sticking with the cricket!
