Which is somewhat suspicious given the literally millions of people who cross borders every day. Even people outside the EU, shockingly
I was talking about the EU, We will not be able to work or live there, but UK businesses will be able to close down businesses here and move their business to Europe.

Did you not see me reply to this with the criticism and why it isn’t feasible?

Where is Johnson selling it?
You’ve been requesting details about the alternative arrangements, well there they are. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you haven’t even read any of it.

There’s a rumour flying around that people regularly used to live and work in other European countries before the EU existed. I think it’s another lie spread by the stupid facists that voted Leave ;)

Utter crap
So tell me oh wise one, what is all this stopping freedom of movement nonsense? Just a way of keeping those pesky poles out of East Anglia? And us noble Brits will be welcomed with open arms in France, Germany etc

Yes I saw you paste a soundbite from this group and about 13:30 in

They haven’t put in the alternative arrangements so NI’s manufacturing doing well now isn’t a reflection of it at all. Its widely concerning to business leaders in NI that the alternative arrangements will damage manufacturing very significantly.

Okay fair enough he refers to it there. But he’s not yet really shown it to the EU has he and presented it in a way that will make them bin the backstop immediately? I want this to work by the way, I want us to leave with a deal but there’s a huge lack of confidence in these arrangements and I’m shocked why Johnson isn’t in Brussels waving them about to get rid of the backstop.

I think there has been a deliberate ploy to couch it in negative language. This as well as terms such as 'hard brexit' and 'crashing out' have been elevated to our vocabulary to create fear and negativity. Language is powerful and is used in Orwellian ways at time to guide thought. In this way a second referendum has been rebranded as a 'peoples vote' and promoted by the very people who have an issue with the people deciding anything. The newest seems to be 'a government of national unity' which would seem to be anything but - in fact those involved don't seem to have enough unity even between themselves to get it off the ground. Honourable mention to 'change uk' of course - effectively a single issue party promoting that we stay as we are and don't change.

Good points. Much of the lexicon is diversionary and that is not helping democracy. My biggest issue is with the idiotic "will of the people". A phrase so vacuous and misleading it astonishes me it got so much traction.

Sorry you’re right the end of FOM will mean everyone is stuck in Blighty, my bad.

To be fair the EU have given Brits 90 day free movement across the EU. Presumably because they don’t want the arse to fall out of holiday resorts.

I have always found it quite remarkable that the UK, a nation that has thrived because of open borders and freedom of movement between its separate constituent nations has become so fervently against open borders.

Its like the lessons of history were never learnt or indeed ever taught.

I don't believe though for one minute that everyone who voted leave is a racist, but I do believe every racist voted leave.

If every racist voted Leave then they must have been pretty dim witted. The Leave proposal was to replace a system where mainly White, mainly Christian people would have an automatic right to come here, with a points based system which would treat all people regardless of race or religion equally.

Racists by nature are dim witted, ignorant and bigoted.

Leave voters aren’t necessarily racist and I dislike the implied narrative that they are very much.

What I will say is though there was a xenophobic element to it and it was mainly around people from The Middle East and elsewhere gaining EU passports in other nations and using it to travel into Britain and settle.

I honestly believe this did pass many by.
