Exactly. By not giving it even though he saw it. I said same last week about the scum pen when Pogba dived, ref couldn’t wait to give it and lo and behold it doesn’t get overturned even though it was blatant dive. Again, bent ref.
Yep. And it’s why var is fucking useless.
 
It’s been discussed at ridiculous length in the var thread.

Var is very unlikely to ever over rule a ref on a subjective decision like a penalty. It’s not happened once in the league this season.

What is the damned point then?
 
If VAR isn’t overturning any penalty decision why bother reviewing them.

Just so they look like they're doing the right thing. That one definitely needs explaining by someone though. The trouble with refs and VAR, is they're untouchable these days. Nobody can question them, and if you do you get banned or fined. Therefore they are in a position to take the piss and not give a toss.
 
I think Rodri has had more touches and successful passes in the last ten minutes than Ilkay had the entire time he was on.
