Bolton (sold to Football Ventures)

I posted this on the Bury thread. Just the same with Bolton.
Yet again, the issue is debt. Bury is entangled with two rogue owners, secondary lenders, and a pile of debt. Calls for salary caps, help from big clubs etc etc are not the answer for these provincial clubs. As with UEFA's ffp, the only real control that works is control of debt. Too late for Bury, I feel, but it is about time EFL got a grip and limited debt to a maximum of 1x turnover. Otherwise rogues will continue to use clubs as piggy banks leaving employees, supporters, local traders, lenders etc etc holding the baby. Bet you Bury's owners are sitting pretty. See Blackpool, Aldershot, etc etc ad infinitum.
Any club going over the limit to be relegated without exception and its finances controlled by a receiver. Then we might see a few saved

Some on red cafe are suggesting that city could end up like Bolton and bury ,if owners pull out. Clueless morons think the sheikh is bank rolling the club haha. Wishful thinking on their part.

Met some bolton lads after Wembley 99 having a curry, right bunch of whinging ****s slagging of Colin Todd who got them to the playoffs final ,cant remember how they got on though,in fact can't remember much about the weekend:)

Bolton and Bury have had it, it's sad but it's more than likely going to happen. If this happened to united or liverpool there would be a day of mourning and a Notre Dam like fund launched in all of the tabloids and broadsheets.

That would never be allowed to happen. Look at utd now, they are in more debt but can service it.

Dippers nearly went into administration a few years back but luckily for them are too big to fail.

The premier league, sky and BT need utd and liverpool. They also now need us, remember we were close until SWP was sold

Yup, debt is the problem. Debt has always been an easy way of making money. (Glazers?)

It opens the way for carpetbaggers who will trouser money to accumulate more debt so the club goes bust. Any help goes to the owners rather than the club. They are free to sell, mortgage, make loans and other ways of ensuring they make money. If Bolton and Bury are wound up then the ground gets sold for housing development and remaining assets disposed off. A great scam.

Genuine investors are restricted by ffp to invest and get clubs back on track. Meanwhile solvent clubs are fined for spending too much.

EFL, UEFA and FIFA have all given the nod to practices that undermine the viability of football clubs. They abrogate their responsibilities in favour of USA style raw capitalism that serves their interests without consideration to communities. The EPL saw what happened with Blackpool and the Oyston's and no lessons were learned. The EPL must take the blame for poor rules and diligence.
