this will backfire on Johnson big time
Presumably if by some by miracle there were to be a deal we’d have a “short technical extension” to allow the legislation to go through?
Yep. Trouble with being clever little bastards is if Parliament isn’t able to block no deal what then? Is suspending Parliament at the time of crisis really the look they are going for? The U.K. drifting towards no deal no longer able to control its own fate? How will Scotland, Wales and NI react? Are we ready to be seen as a lone hostile actor in Europe and to have our actions condemned by countries within our own union? How will we react when it’s evident that the U.K. is only functioning via the largess of the EU with temp deals for a month or two over which we have no say or control? Are we really going to get an alternative Parliament sitting in protest? Will it lobby the Queen?
And all this banana republic shit because we didn’t like straight bananas.
Do you ever get bored of loving/ talking about the eu so much ? You’ve been on here every day talking about it.
Btw all you e done is said fuck it the vote and fuck the majority of people that voted leave
I did say “if by some miracle....”And then you have Farage and the Brexit Party having a melt at a) resurrecting May’s deal and b) not respecting Brexit by bottling no deal. I mean have you taken note of what Farage has said? They ain’t going away and they will nail Boris’s bollocks to the alter of no deal. No deal is now Brexit. Anything else is a betrayal of Brexit and the Tories ain’t winning an election with a hostile Brexit Party, resurgent LibDems or the SNP winning back most of not all of the 13 Scottish seats.
I did say “if by some miracle....”
It's not mudslinging at Leavers (except at Farage).I'm all for remaining and think Brexit is one of the worst decisions we've ever made - however all the Nazi mudslinging at leavers is beyond pathetic.
The camera image wasn't.Soubry crying on the news is delicious.
I agree about the mudslinging towards leavers in general - however in Johnson's case his attempt to avoid parliamentary scrutiny for no-deal has a definite parallel with how elected authoritarians have in the past cemented their power by subverting constitutional safeguards.I'm all for remaining and think Brexit is one of the worst decisions we've ever made - however all the Nazi mudslinging at leavers is beyond pathetic.
Fascist cunts.
It was voted down for political & ideological reasons, not because it wasn't the best solution to the Brexit mess. Not really the House of Commons voted it down 3 times.
If it was a solution it would have passed but it didnt
The heat is being turned up now.
I never thought he had the balls seems he has.
I don’t think it will. The outcomes:this will backfire on Johnson big time
You should try understanding my response better. I'll spell it out for you:I have been looking at the facts since the early 90s - my views on the EU were formed many years before 2015.
I can readily see how people with the appropriate pre-disposition and desire to push a narrative can make the comparisons you do - god knows we have had it for over 3 years from many posters on here - although I credit you with setting a new benchmark.
When you say things like:
"I feel how uncomfortable you're becoming with this realisation.. and
"Don't feel ashamed"
You are just making yourself look a bit childish IMO - crack on
If you want to try and demonstrate some genuine analysis rather than all this nonsense
Have another go at:
"Certainly the EU have no need to find a solution for the backstop - and neither have the UK
Do you understand why?"
The attempt you just made was irrelevant to the question asked - try reading it first
It had to come to a head one way or another.
But sidelining Parliament, or at least attempting to, is just signalling you don’t have the votes to carry out effective governance and if Johnson can’t do that then what is the point of the Government? For ‘no deal’ legislation has to be passed. For a ‘deal’ legislation has to be passed. Limiting the time Parliament can sit to do either of these is an odd way to run a country.
