Bobby Duncan

They should let him leave I think. Big clubs here just clog up young players with no interest in ever playing them. It's like having a player(s) just to stop other clubs from having them.

Just like the vicious way the club and its fanbase started on Raheem the second he had issues. I wonder if Raheem will ever tell the full story about what really went on behind the scenes at Liverpool to drive him away from the club. The funny thing is I have a friend (a staunch Liverpool fan) with very good connections at Liverpool FC and he told me 12 months ago that there was quite a toxic atmosphere there off the field and that part of the issue was because of the chaotic culture created at the top of the club by Klopp. To be honest, given how brilliantly the first team has performed, I just dismissed it. But stories like this do make me wonder.
Raheem wanted to leave for more money and to join a better team. No different from players who have joined Liverpool for the same reasons. Typical football fan crybaby elitist attitude.

It’s interesting that Carrahger’s position with Bobby Duncan is that the 18 year old lad should stay at Liverpool & maybe make the bench/play in the carabo cup to develop etc.
Pretty sure his position on the then 18 year old Phil Foden was that he should leave Man City to get experience etc.
Typical back the club over player attitude of another ex Liverpool player.

Ill take any and every chance to bash the cult under normal circumstances but he’s signed a contract so should be prepared to stay there and see it out. Players have too much power. They all want massive lengthy contracts for security against turning out to be shit so they can leach off the club but don’t expect to have to honour the contract once something doesn’t go their way.

Again, this guy’s attitude explains why we didn’t fight to keep him. For all we know, Sancho might have been the same.

Their loss

Alexis Sanchez endorses this post

We tried to keep Sancho but he refused all our contract offers and wanted to go.

Agree to an extent, but surely any decent company will do all it can to help an employee who isn't happy working for it?

I disagree. Leaving to play is the right attitude. No point potentially wasting a career in the U23's or not making the First Team squad when another club will play you.

Hypocrisy from a scouser ?

Surely not.

Don't think either party comes out of this well. Liverpool should let him leave, but that agent seems a twat.

Duncan thinks he’s gods gift to football but let’s face it he would get slaughtered in league 2 by physical defenders. The lad has obviously had his head turned since childhood being that he’s slippy gs cousin and now thinks he has the divine right for first team football. His agents obviously a crook as well.

To be fair I bet he left us because they said he would make first team squad by now
Can’t knock him or sancho
It’s people like Diaz I don’t get
He ain’t getting anywhere at Madrid
If you back yourself then go for it

Brahim did start to get a look in. By various accounts, he was one of their most exciting players when he got a run of minutes. Scored a cracking goal too but he's had injury problems since joing.

Regardless of all that, if you gave me the choice of not playing in Manchester and not playing in Madrid, I'm choosing Madrid every time.

Anyway, with regards to Duncan, this has quickly turned into a fucking mess. Maybe there's been some buildup I'm not aware of but this feels a bit out of the blue.

Carragher sticking his ore in is a bad move. Guy has no integrity whatsoever and will always prioritise Liverpool over anyone so what he has to say isn't important.

This Saif whatshisface is an utter cockwomble but Carragher telling him that Duncan needs to stay sack him, put his head down and work for the club's forgiveness has shades of Sterling about it. Pretty sure he said the exact same thing about Aidy Ward ruining Raheem's career and look how that turned out.

Foden???? He's done the right thing. Any reasonable player can look good in German/French leagues - and in La Liga to a lesser degree

He has a great name for a footballer, however his agent is running rings around him and will have a better career.

Not sure why Carragher has waded into the argument. Twitter is a great platform for morons.

Theres a lot of assumptions there.

Maybe, and I'll make some assumptions of my own, hes just a kid - one of the best in his age group in Europe - who got persuaded to join his childhood club that his cousin played for thinking that he'd be getting game time. Because that's what they promised, and Klopp plays kids etc etc. And he's Steven Gerrard's cousin.

Then, when it became clear that promise was a lie, despute some impressive preseason appearances, at 18 he asked to leave, probably because he's seen Sancho and Nelson and others do the same. Liverpool said no. His agent found some buyers, loan options, loan to buy options, Liverpool still said no.

Now he's being bullied by Liverpool into and his agent has taken it public because it's the smart thing to do - get a spotlight on the situation, play up the kid being depressed etc.

The agent seems like a bit of a chancer, but he was Kolo Toure's agent and he brokered the deal for Antonio Rudiger for Chelsea, so he's not a complete amateur despite the tweets dug up today.
