Same old, same old.
The reality is, that Australia are much the better side and deserve to win the Ashes.
Hardly any player in the England side has done anything of note in this series.
This isn't a great Aussie side but they are much better than England

I wouldn’t say they are a much better side.

Smith has just been in freakishly good form and we have failed to capitalise at decisive moments.

Their pace attack has been very impressive but they haven’t been bowling to top quality players.

We were always asking for trouble by having Denly and Roy in our top 4.

Their bowlers have been much better apart from Broad & quicker.

A much as I commend the reusable glass system I will miss the beer snake

Also have decent bitter on only one bar is daft

Suns out now jopefully.we can stay in till after lunch

Archer’s peak pace has been the quickest on show but Cummins, Pattinson, Starc and even Hazelwood have consistently bowled between 85-90mph.

I agree that they have bowled better than us but surely it’s our batsmen who are most fallible. I was expecting at least a few centuries between Root, Bairstow and Buttler this series but they haven’t even made one. :(

Too much one day cricket. We need to return to the proper game of cricket. Unfortunately money talks as the one day game puts bums on seats more often than not.

I was so excited about Archer, as imo genuine fast bowling is a different question altogether & will get Smith out.

He has come across as a slapped arse so far in this match. If Australia bat again, I want to see 90mph plus, or fuck him off back to County Cricket.

I’m inclined to agree but I guess fitness could be an issue considering he played throughout the World Cup.

I was expecting a bit more from him with the bat, too.

Broad out now. :(

If we avoid the follow on, not quite sure how the Aussies will play it. Add a quick 150 today and get us in before the end of play today for a few overs. 350 could be chased though seeing as we did it at Headingley.

Given that they hold the Ashes and we chased a sizeable target in the previous test, I think they’ll want at least 400.

It’s imperative that we take some early wickets to stop them from scoring too freely.

He’s out of form but the situation is made for Warner.
