City the first billion euro club

Based on this player values list apparently:

I remembered our current squad cost(at that time) from an article last season was around £765m or so.
https://www.transferleague.co.uk/sq...-did-each-club-spend-on-their-current-players

It needs updating for this season since players have come and gone. I tried working the new total out myself.

Squad players in:
Rodri £68m
Cancelo £60m
Angelino £5m
£133m

Squad players out:
Kompany £8m
Danilo £27m
Delph £10m
£45m

So using transferleagues figures it would come out at £853m(953m Euros). Higher than I expected but still not 1bn.

Having said that I think Transferleague's figures are too high to begin with. Looking at BJL's post in the media thread, it seems like transferleague are either using inflated figures or are including none squad players. £782m appears to be a much more accurate squad cost and that could even decrease in the next few years.

BBC article says it's been spent to assemble the current squad.

Rodri - 62.8m
Angelino - 5.3m
Cancelo - 60m
Mahrez - 60m
Laporte - 57m
Bernardo - 43m
Ederson - 34m
Walker - 45m
Mendy - 49m
Gundogan - 20m
Zinchenko - 1.7m
Sane - 37m
Stones - 47.5m
Bravo - 15m
Jesus - 27m
Sterling - 44m
Otamendi - 28m
De Bruyne - 54m
Fernandinho - 30m
Aguero - 38m
Silva - 24m
Foden - Free

I make it £782.3m, so adjusting for argument's sake would leave you between £750-800m, so the way the BBC puts it in the article is false as its under €1bn however you look at it.

Simply put any publications reporting it as the squad cost rather than the squad value, is spreading incorrect information.

On a serious note, who cares. Can hardly say we have had bad value for money, we are winning trophies and playing football at the highest level. We also don't and have never (Tevez aside) sold a world class player. Other clubs get picked apart, we don't. Shove your net spend trophy.

Disgusting, how can Norwich compete with billionaire squad. I insist we play our under 15's.
