For those who say John is (or was never good), I have to say no John, no title last season.
Walker, Fern and Otto, play wing backs, Cancelo has to come inExpecting Walker Fernandinho Rodri to get nod at CB ahead of Bellis or Garcia
Honestly don't think it's the worst thing to happen.
Stones' injuries and inconsistent performances haven't allowed us to rely on him for a long time.
Get Garcia or Harwood-Bellis in, give them game time in our first 11 and it might pay off. Either way Laporte is our centre half good enough, granted he's very good. Stones would be okay as a rotational option but he can't stay fit.
Should have signed another centre half though, might cost us the league that. We need 2 new centre halves, hopefully 1 in January.

Not buying in the summer was a gamble that has not paid off. We just have to get on with it now. If Mendy holds up we can play five at the back with Cancelo, Walker, Ferdy (and Otamendi). Bernardo can also play wingback at a pinch or holding midfield. Pep is the best manager in the world at coming up with solutions. This is possibly his biggest ever challenge. We have been very unlucky with injuries these past few seasons. It could make this season more interesting.
