We are bombarded with all manner of films now via cinema, TV and internet outlets. Yet I find so few are of any interest to me. I hate the following:

Romantic comedies. Silly, boring, gooey and predictable (we know they'll end with the pair getting it together).

Superhero films (so-called). I grew out of them when I stopped reading comics when I was about thirteen.

Anything animated - usually fairy tales or such. Cartoons are basically for kiddies.

Posy French films. Because.... they're posy, and they're French. Enough said.

There's always been film dross but by heavens there's some dross now.

Let's have films for grown-ups.

Love the old movies nothing that comes out now could you watch time and time again. Watched ClintEastwood in Unforgiven the other day. I have seen it a few times before but watchable again.
While I am here anyone got any suggestions for a laugh out loud film?

We watched 2 "kitchen sink dramas" from the early 60s on 5 select channel yesterday afternoon.
"Saturday night Sunday morning"
followed by "A taste of honey."
Both real nitty gritty films about working class people and their trials and tribulations.
Great stories with great actors in both films.
Very watchable even though both films are almost 60 years old.
