In fairness the righties are too busy actually committing acts of violence. The Global Terrorism Index tracked 66 deaths in Europe between 2013 and 2017 committed by right wing groups and individuals. Violence from the left is neither as extreme nor as prevalent. It is though often noisier and likely to be characterised in the media as ‘left wing violence’. In contrast the media tend to portray right wing violence as someone having ‘mental trouble’, playing too much Grand Theft Auto or point out their good side as in ‘he was an excellent Tory Councillor’.

No more likely they are at work and have better things to do than stand in the rain booing at the opposition political party.

It’s not the word humbug that’s the problem. Johnson called a female politician a liar when she said she’d had death threats. That’s pretty low as far as I’m concerned. Maybe you agree with Johnson that she was making it up?
Perhaps if he'd said she was making it up, you'd have a point.

He's absolutely right and had very good reasons to complain. It was indeed a "revolutionary" judgment converting convention into common law and prescribing new limits of a pregogative power. More importantly the opposition parties invited the courts in to politically supervise the executive by cynically abdicating their own constitutional obligation to allow a GE.

Every time you post about that judgment you show how little you understand it.

Do you know what humbug means?
“Deceptive or false talk or behaviour”
Sounds like he’d used a word that means she was making it up.
'"You're a fuckin' liar", in fact, the actual meaning of humbug in it's historical usage. Just more duckin' n divin' as ever from the masters of semantic twaddle

And yet those Conservatives are not the ones who voted against May's deal, they all voted for it, 3 times.
I am assuming that you were as confused when writing this post as I was when reading it
Yes, exactly.

Where some leave voters have seen the words & actions of the far right, as acceptable, when perhaps at one time in the past, they would have seen it for what it is & wanted nothing to do with it.

The 'centre' is now the right.
What a total load of bollocks

This is the transparent fabrication of Remainers who - having thought for 2 years that they had gotten Brexit cancelled - are now having bladder problems.

All the extreme language I am reading on this thread as I catch up comes from the left _ of course desperately seeking to smear the moderates as far right.

Pretty obvious - and IMO sad

It might be the dictionary definition but I think it's just as common for it to mean "bollocks".

By which I don't think he meant she was making it up, merely that he was refuting her argument.

His language might not have been ideal but people's reaction to it are completely over the top imo.

Saving face? That was the EU’s original idea. It’s their backstop. They will give us that with pretty ribbons on top. This was the original basis we agreed with the EU back in December 2017 before the DUP nixed it.

Seriously I do worry sometimes.

What a prat you make of yourself sometimes.

I know that - I have repeatedly said so

You not heard me scream that Leavers have a lot more reason to be pissed off with May than Remainers?

Are you joining the pack? Thought you could think for yourself

Absolutely but what’s the indefensible stuff the leader of the Labour Party has done?

I suppose it depends what each individual considers indefensible. For me personally his previous dealings with people and organisations that I consider enemies of our country. We all know to whom I refer but that one has been done before.

Some of his policies are indefensible, an example being his wish to effectively destroy our armed forces.

He has evaded plenty of important questions asked by the public and indeed his MPs. He has not been totally honest and upfront about his intentions and views on Brexit. He himself if the truth be known would be all for leaving the EU but has avoided putting down his marker in the full knowledge that it would alienate many Labour voters. Putting it bluntly he is a dangerous man and a serious threat should he get the keys to no10 with a majority.

Some of the rumours and accusations are worrying but are they proven to be fact and what were his motivations behind such meetings? That’s what matters and it’s very inconclusive.

The armed forces point is a poor one, I must say. The Tories have stripped them and stripped them since 2010 and Labour’s policy is to invest more and grow the armed forces.

I disagree with Corbyn’s Trident position but he’s still going to reinvest the money elsewhere, in the military.

His Brexit position I have been critical of but this doesn’t make him dangerous, he’s certainly not anywhere as dangerous as the man in power now, who has contempt for our parliament and democracy.

I thought you were going to go with the jo.

Can’t beat the system go with the jo.

Go go with the jo.

@gordondaviesmoustache will know that one.

Nail on head.
Johnson and Cummings not only don't give a shit about the union, they actively want Scotland to break away so there's 53 less opposition MPs which would help them secure a majority government.
Just curious......

What do posters think would be the outcome on a Scotland indyref vote right now - if exclusively held amongst English voters?

Genuine question BTW
