Extinction Rebellion

I remember the experts telling me that the ozone layer hole was "irreparable" and could not be fixed. The best we could do was stop it getting any larger or else we would die of skin cancer in a matter of a few years .

It's now almost entirely closed up.

It's nature. Its been around since time began and it'll be here long after we've all evolved into a different sub species.

The climate change industry is a con .A lie. A tax on the air we breathe .

At first I thought you were on a wind up, but your post did set me thinking. Many years ago, around the time of Thatcher, so the 70's, Norway complained about our power stations causing acid rain which was destroying their forests never mind polluting their country. We denied this and poured all sorts of scientific bumf scorn onto this complaint. The government basically convinced the British public that is was made up rubbish, Hmmmmm.
Then we had a scientific scare that we were polluting the planet with mercury as high levels were turning up in Tuna, Marvin Gaye even included it in a song Mercy mercy Me, fish full of mercury. It turned out it was a natural phenomenon, it happened naturally every seven years. My point is we have been lied to so many times some have given up listening.

Maybe that's just you..............

Nah me and the lads were getting looks like we were aliens. Listen to those northerners laughing bloody weirdos they should be stood still staring at their shoes. We will have no fun on here.

Lifeless commuting cunts.

While I disagree with this, I can't help but be reminded of this wonderful meme

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that taken overall then Extinction Rebellion are probably a good thing.

We don't have enough civil disobedience any more so fair fucks to them for going the extra step. People don't listen to protests because they are essentially sitting in a corner with a flag while people with better things to do rubberneck on the way to work. Civil disobedience gets under people's skin, forces them to think about the issue even if they think the person is a twunt.

Politics in this country is far too sanitised now. If the Stop Brexit brigade had started REALLY getting in people's way then I'm sure that we'd have had a different outcome there.

True but they instead spent 3 years mocking the so called Dads army and that when brexit was scrapped and it was going to be scrapped, they would all be laughing at us gammons taking to the streets and fighting.

agree with all of that except last paragraph- I think the stop brigade have done an amazing job without having to cause civil obedience. I’m more surprised the gammon heads have not come out in force but I think the technical terms of leaving have left them all a bit flummoxed- so they resort to posting tommy Robinson videos on Facebook instead.

Go for a run you whopper.

Gammon heads ffs.

No one seems or appears as angry as those that use the fucking term.

Protesting and civil disobedience is all well and good and can be a good thing, but if people disrupt other peoples lives then they have to expect a backlash don't they? If the public decide to move them on because the police either can't or wont then that's the nature of the beast.
Obstructing my right of way would be a mistake if they tried it but if they bombarded me with pamphlets placards and literature (Maybe had a stand) I would engage with them. The right to protest should always be protected but those protests should be legal.
