Of course I want to stop a Corbyn-led government. As would anyone with any sense, IMO.

But that is not the reason for my change of heart. Believe that if you like, or not. I don't care which.

Welcome to our world of the last 3 years in which you will be told what and how you are thinking ;-)

What i did find amusing was the fact that the total was 101% !
Not the best editorial checking.

That's actually common in polls. It could be because they've rounded the figures to the nearest percentage or it could be because of the margin of error in the poll itself.

I think it will get through though Bob.

I think the mood to vote for something, anything, is strong but the kicker will be the bill that follows because a positive vote on Saturday just means we finally get to see the bill that makes it law and that is going to have the crap scrutinised out of it with everyone attaching their wish list to it and with a Govt that has lost its confidence and supply partner it’s going to be a rocky journey.

No point in arguing about one poll mate but it is certainly true from the aggregate of all polls since June 2016 that there has not been a significant enough switch to Remain.

Yes I agree no point in arguing as that was an aggregate of four polls, the most recent ones!

Not sure where the optimism is coming from (but I guess being a non tory I won't) if the deal did get voted through then Tories would win an election on the back but we are a long way from that as it is not in there gift to have an election. The opposition could chose to sit to make sure that Johnson couldn't push through his populist agenda,
It's not optimism, merely a reflection that Labour have a mountain to climb in order to become the largest party. They finished 56 seats behind the Tories last time when voting was neck and neck. And right now they are not neck and neck, they are -15 points behind in the polls. If there was an election on that basis tomorrow, the Tories would probably have a majority of something like 80 and have maybe 160 more MPs than Labour.

So to turn that around to Labour being the biggest party, is pretty much inconceivable, IMO.

Meanwhile in other news John Baron Tory MP has dropped a clanger by informing the media that Tory right wingers are being assured by Gove and Raaaaaaaab that this deal is a pathway to no deal as come next June we simply opt out of transition extension and leave without a deal on 1.1 2001.
Tory right wingers also seeking to gain assurance from Geoffrey Cox that going into transition doesn't prevent UK from leaving on WTO in 2021.
Tory rebels and remainers and wavering Labour MPs not happy apparently.
And in more news Raaaaaaaaaaab actually said that NI are in a good place because they will benefit from frictionless trade with the EU.
I mean WTAF ( no explanation required).
PS Lots of speculation as regards which way Mavis will vote given her love for our "precious precious Union" ( so precious she said it twice) and her statement that no British PM ( which happened to be her at the time of the statement) could agree to a border in the Irish Sea.
Normally YCNMIU Jeff, but in the case of Brexit you can.

Then we will be still in because he is a remainer.

Not that remainers ever admitted that. No he was impartial and anyone accusing him of being an impartial remainers was wrong.

There is your hypocrisy right there.

He was acting on the principles and integrity of parliament, based on written rules and precedent. That is upholding democracy.

Brexit doesn't trump democracy.

From a timing perspective that is true. But please understand I am on record saying that Boris is fuckwit, a buffoon and someone for whom I have little or no respect. I'll dig out my posts on the subject if you wish.

But yes I am a Tory, and were it Corbyn who was driving towards some position or other, I'd probably find it much more difficult to fall in line and support it. A fair cop in that respect.

But at the end of the day mate, what's really changed in my thinking is, I've had enough of this shit. After 3.5 years of it, I want us to move on one way or another. I am almost beyond caring: just get the fuck on with it. And it's dawned on me that it is NEVER going away unless we leave. 17.4m voters have "right" on their side and would be justified in never letting it drop if we don't leave. 16.1m voters have no such claim and will have to accept it when we do.

I think you're more of a Leaver than me these days mate - who's the idiot now?! ;)

But joking aside, you're by no means alone. Apart from those who are totally entrenched in a Leave/Remain position, pretty much the rest of the country are of a similar opinion to yours whichever way they voted, so despite jay claiming you're only taking this view now Johnson is PM, he's totally wrong on that IMO.

That's your naivety right there.
