Ok ..just heard an old song “You are my Sunshine” on the radio and (unless I’ve imagined it) It took me straight back to the kippax as we sang it about the blues:
“You are my City, my only City
You make me happy, when sky’s are grey
You’ll never know (something?) how much we love you,
Please don’t take my sunshine away“.

Anyone else remember it? I used to love it. Also could replace the word City with David or Bernardo Silva?

Funnily enough I was thinking of one of the old songs we used to sing in the late 60s after seeing the latest Volvo car advert on TV.
The original song was " He's got the whole world in his hands,he's got the whole wide world in his hands."
And on the Kippax,the words were changed to-
"We've got the best team in the land,We've got the best team in the land,
We've got the best team in the land,We've got the best team in the land.

And in 1967-8 we did have THE BEST TEAM in the land.
So the wheel has come cycle and once again we have THE BEST TEAM in the land.

I remember it but thought it was ‘when the sky’s are blue’.

I didn’t start going until the late 90’s and certainly sang it. Great song!
