Relieved that Letwin amendment has passed. Common sense has prevailed.

I wasn't against it in principle and had it been a genuine amendment to discuss and pass then i would have supported it.

It isn't, its remainers trying to stop brexit yet again and today's debate has shown that.

My cause is democracy and can only ask that people take this as being completely 100% honest had remain won and parliament said fuck it we are leaving i would be as vocal in demanding we remain because anything else is not democracy.

As is mine, I am a democrat first and foremost.

I do have real concerns though that the people of the country do not understand how democracy in this country works. To be fair, nobody has been helped by the numerous stupid comments made by protagonists on both sides of the debate that have deliberately misled the electorate, confused the process and inflamed the debate. It has been a pretty shameful episode for our countries democracy and I fear due to a lack of understanding and further idiotic rhetoric from the main protagonists things might well get worse before they get better.

Johnson just now saying in as many words he will break the law of the land, really does not help.

About as condescending as it can get that.

You think nearly 34 million voters didn't understand parliament had given them the final say on us remaining or leaving the EU?

Did we misunderstand the promises both main parties made?

What he's saying, is that all the referendum did, is give MPs tacit permission to carry out the process of leaving as they saw fit. It didn't lay out a specific process by which it should be carried out.

In a way yes, I don't blame the electorate for not knowing how it works, as an electorate we have had things happen that we have never seen before.

I am not casting blame on how people voted, that is not the issue, the issue is not understanding the process. I don't fully understand it and as I look at Parliamentarians I think a lot of them don't either, hence the clusterfuck of the referendum. They should have foreseen the chaos that could ensue, they didnt. That takes me back to a point I made earlier, without a written constitution we simply do not know how events will unfold.

Get your letter written Boris you tosser. What a lying, deceitful weasel he his. If this deal was sooooooo good what has he got to worry about? Put it on the table and get all this ground breaking, wonderful and honest legislation through. It's obviously the shittest deal possible for our futures yet some can't see that and still demand "get this done" Utter bollox. Utter shambles. We're the laughing stock of Europe with Coco steering the ship

Having lunch with 25 Spaniards. Realised I have been a citizen of the EU longer than them and will continue to be for at least 2 more weeks.
