Really good post that

It will hopefully make a few look in the mirror - and be honest with themselves

Interestingly, if strong-minded people such as @Chippy_boy and @Ban-jani - I think also @gordondaviesmoustache ?? on this forum have come round to thinking that Leaving is necessary to get the country on a (slow) road to cohesion and recovery - then is it not possible/probable that is the emerging sentiment across the citizens of the UK.

Remainers have handled this quite badly IMO

I know they are underestimating the feeling in the country . Look I wish there was never a referendum at all and we are still in the eu and none of this happened

However there was one.

A lot of people who voted remain are democrats and understand that history tells us if you ignore a democratic vote of the people then bad shit happens. A very dangerous area for the country.

Labour moaning they haven’t enough time to scrutinise a long legal complex legal document but they want the people to vote on it . They are utter morons with no leadership. Has anybody seen Jeremy ?

Do you believe the SNP, Greens, Lib Dems etc will scrutinise the deal and pass it if they think it is fair?

I dont, in fact they have an amendment to not even discuss it.

Can you not see the issue with their position here?

Some are opposed to Brexit no matter what, I understand that. Some will vote for a deal they think is a compromise and good for the county, all they want is sufficient time to review the legislation

I don't know about the amendment to discuss it but I imagine that is a result of only having 3 days i.e once they start they must stop as per Government timetable. It is absurd that the Government as allowed only a few days for all this, given its importance and alleged benefits

The above are not part of those you describe and the amendment is to stop the bill in its tracks.

The very thing they went to court for, to sit, to demand the PM brings so they can have a meaningful vote on.

They will lose that one crucial vote so it has to be stopped.

Given miller case which made it law that parliament have a vote on the deal the govt brings. Is bercow in contempt of court for not allowing it ?

These people get paid a bloody good wage and have legal representatives in their midst so the sob stories don't work for me...

They need to focus on the amendments as they surely know the May deal inside out by now

It's not rocket science... a few evening sessions if needed are surely acceptable.. they want to have their cake and eat it these fuckers

The nation is waiting

They just said on the radio that MPs have had 500 hours to study the May deal... so this isn't difficult surely
Spot-on

Every week up and down the country large and complex contracts are legally reviewed in a matter of days

There needs to be sufficient time - but up to a week is more than enough

He was sat in the commons yesterday afternoon (or he has a stunt double) but said next to fuck all... one stuttering tirade about Johnson being absent which he dictated from a fag packet

A great public speaker he isn't

I assume he has some endearing qualities for the disciples

Also Nicola in Scotland is taking a keen interest in these new arrangements :)

So you keep saying but her parties behaviour on us wanting to leave a political union we no longer want to be a part of might just come back to bite her on the arse when she asks if they can leave a political union they no longer want to be a part of........

She wont stop this bill or brexit.

The government can and most probably will stop her independence moves.

Many think Bercow has possibly strayed and as a minimum, bent conventions to favour one side of the debate in fact a committee is discussing just that today.

He isn't arsed, he is leaving and this his final swansong so will do what he can to make sure his own opinions on brexit are carried out.

Shame as i have enjoyed watching him as speaker but he record is forever tainted imo because the accusations of a loss of impartiality will always be there.

Can Scotland afford to stand alone as an independent nation? Surely not
I have said for some time now - if the UK genuinely leaves the EU before there is an Indyref2 then the likelihood will be that Scotland will vote to Remain in the UK with an increased majority

Setting aside emotion - that is the logic of objective and calm analysis

Oh how amusing it would be, when the other members of Parliament block their referendum result from leaving the UK union on the exact same "arguments" they have been raising in regards to brexit.

The sheer hypocrisy of it all.

So you can rerun a referendum and it still be democratic? Huge news.

I think voters in NI should have been told they were going to be sold off. Maybe we should ask them again? Seems only fair. But then they didn’t vote to be sold off in the first place so fuck ‘em. Have I got that right? U.K. rules on referendum are a tad confusing.

The Swiss have a law that the people have to be told the truth before a referendum .... if some one could be shown to be lying the referendum is void and has to be rerun

The Tories wouldn't last a fucking minute .......

The standard terms normally international treaties – and this is such a treaty, under law – must be before parliament for at least 21 sitting days in order to be ratified.

The Maastricht Treaty was given much longer.

I really cannot believe that Bercow allowing this especially when an extension has been requested and its only Johnson self imposed deadline that is driving this.
