Anybody who thinks David Silva should start ahead of Foden needs to see a shrink. Cancello for Walker, Bernardo for Mahrez, Foden for Merlin and we will be unstoppable.
Comments like that show you up for the absolute know nothing div that you are. Foden will be a superstar for us but his time will come you ungrateful ****.

Totally agree. David Silva remains one of the greatest players to ever play for City. Foden is decent but, FFS, people are so reactionary and have no clue!

I don't agree that Foden should be starting of David but the fact that Silva is one of our greatest ever players doesn't contradict Foden starting right now. Dave turns 34 in a couple of months and Foden will naturally offer more energy and an argument could be made that he should start games. Takes nothing away from David and how utterly brilliant he's been for us over the past 10 years.

Silly. Silva is the best midfielder to have ever graced the sky blue shirt, and Foden is improving but nowhere close YET. The end.

But being the best ever doesn't mean he isn't naturally declining with age in terms of energy levels, he's turning 34 and obviously that should be expected. No one is trying to argue that Foden is close to the level Silva has been for us in the past 10 years but I definitely see an argument for rotation to get the best out of both of them; Silva playing the tougher games while Foden slots in to gain experience and give David much needed rest throughout the season.
