Lovely pass to put DeBruyne away down the right which led to our third and a lovely assist for Sterling, hit and miss first half but he's always got that moment of magic in him.

Spot on...one of the few players who can change a game in an instant. I think in Mahrez and Bernardo we have two of the most technically gifted players in the world.

Do not argue with somebody who thinks that he is perfect while he fails to see the obvious: POTY, a contender for ballon d’or for the second time in his career, winner of best African player award, serious candidate for the same award this year ahead of Salah, arguably the best player of AFCON, city player of the month and winner of load of trophies.
Yawn

Mahrez's first touch and close control is on the level of David Silva and Bernardo in tight spaces.

The frustrating part of him is that he never really grabs hold of games single handedly like a Silva x2 do or KDB. His individual skill is as good as anyone but he just doesnt seem to have he tenacity that would push him to the level of KDB et al. He is more a player who drifts in and out of a game but can produce moments of absolute brilliance (the reverse ball to Bernardo tonight vs Southampton being a prime example)

Just wish he was more consistent throughout a single game rather than flitting in and out.

Well said!

Defender had him in his pocket one on one most of the night, but then he has that occasional magic moment that can win a game, so you are always on the edge of your seat waiting for the magic. When it doesn’t come, or is one or two flashes over 90 minutes, you leave feeling like he disappointed you.

That said, one mustn’t discount his overall play. He rarely loses the ball, which is vital in Pep’s team, especially when the FB is committing down the line, and he has got much better at “defending.”

Ehen I look at our first team squad, it is almost unfathomable to think he was a RECORD SIGNING, but then that’s the market in the era of global satellite/cable TV coverage of the PL. After all, one word... Maguire!
