All this positivity about Tommy brings a tear to the eye for some who remember Mike in his pomp. He was the pivot that allowed the entertainers to get on with what they were good at. If his Grandson is half as good he will have a great future.

It would be great if we got to see Doyle, Foden and Harwood-Bellis on the pitch at the same time. Maybe in one of the final CL group matches if we qualify from the group early.

Thought he was really good last night. Didn't have a ton to do, especially first half, but handled his debut well and played a few decent balls. Hopefully he can stick around the squad and back up Rodri/Gundo in midfield every now and then like Foden did the last two years.

I thought he was excellent last night; so good, in fact, that I made him MotM.

He was clearly not out of his depth alongside his teammates last night and controlled the midfield superbly. His distribution and passing were both excellent and it takes a special kind of confidence to be happy to take the corners on your début.

The Mighty Glyn must have been very proud, and of course, Mike would be too, if he were here to see it.

Naturally, one swallow doesn’t make a summer, and none of us knows if he is going to be good enough for this team long-term, but it was a fucking good start.

Always great to see a kid who quite literally has City running through his veins. Really hope he makes it.

His granddads made 950 appearances for City between them and the first cousin of one of them - Alan Oakes - has worn the club's shirt more times than anyone else (680). That’s some pedigree to have behind you.
