Fantastic review. Very interesting.

Doesn't sound like any of the loanees are pulling up trees though.

Disappointing that Matt Smith isn't doing better at QPR.

By all accounts Harrison, Bolton, Steffen, Herrera, Itakura, both Ilic's, Gomes, Garcia, Meshino, and Antuna seem to be doing pretty well for where they are. I'd put Tosin and Porro just a tier below. But yeah, many of the others seem to be struggling for game time or have had to battle with injuries.

Roberts really has regressed. Not working out at all at Norwich it seems. Muric also looks like he’ll be stuck on the bench for the season as well. Could be worth reviewing both these in January.

Harrison got another assist last night and seems to be doing well. Tosin has also now had two consecutive starts for Blackburn so things are looking up for him.

Matt Smith is now struggling for time at QPR which is a shame as he did play a fair few times at the start. Hopefully he can force his way back in. The rest are all doing about par for the course.

Think Itakura and Herrera seem to be two who have locked down roles in their respective teams.

I noticed Nmecha scored for Germany U21 a couple of weeks back which will do his confidence good.

Amazing to think how much talent we have on loan and how much their marketable value is even if they don’t make it with us.

Probably only Roberts we will make a loss on at this present moment in time.

Another busy weekend in the footballing world; here's how Manchester City's loanees performed.

Patrick Roberts wasn't in the matchday squad for Norwich in their 1-3 home defeat to Manchester United. In the Championship, Luke Bolton started for Luton Town and played nearly the whole match, being subbed off in the 87th minute of their 2-1 defeat away to Birmingham City. Tosin Adarabioyo got another start for Blackburn Rovers and played the full 90 of their 3-2 defeat to Preston North End at Deepdale. Jack Harrison started and went the distance for Leeds United in their 0-0 draw away to Sheffield Wednesday, while Aro Muric's Nottingham Forest had their home match with Reading postponed due to heavy overnight rain. Matt Smith's QPR host Brentford later tonight.

In the Bundesliga, Zack Steffen was once again in net for Fortuna Dusseldorf, conceding two goals despite making four saves in their away loss to bottom-of-the-table Paderborn. Lukas Nmecha came on for the final twenty minutes of Wolfsburg's 0-0 home draw with Augsburg. Yangel Herrera started for La Liga leaders Grenada and played the first 60 minutes of their 1-0 win over Real Betis, picking up a yellow card in the process. Pedro Porro was not in the matchday squad for Real Valladolid's 2-0 home win over Eibar. Thierry Ambrose made his second successive Ligue 1 start for Metz before coming off around the hour mark of their 2-0 away defeat to Olympique Lyon. Marlos Moreno made a substitute appearance for Portimonense in Premeira Liga action, coming on in the 82nd minute of their 1-1 draw with Gil Vicente.

The weekend's Eredivisie slate saw both City loanees start and play the full 90 for their respective clubs as Joel Latibeaudiere's FC Twente recorded a 4-1 win over Emmen while Ko Itakura's Groningen drew 1-1 away to Heerenveen. In the Dutch second tier, Claudio Gomes started and played the full 90 minutes of Jong PSV's 1-0 away loss to TOP Oss, recording a yellow card in the match. Felix Correira started and assisted the opening goal for Jong AZ Alkmaar but was subbed off in the 60th minute of their 3-2 away defeat to Volendam. Both Luka and Ivan Ilic started for NAC Breda in their 4-2 defeat at Roda JC Kerkrade. The Serbian brothers both played the full 90 minutes as former City academy player Colin Rosler was sent off in the 71st minute with the game at 2-2. Aminu Mohammed was not in the matchday squad for Dordrecht's 5-0 away loss to De Graafschap.

Paolo Fernandes started and came off after just 40 minutes for Serie B side Perugia in their 1-1 away draw to Salernitana. In Belgium, Aleix Garcia got another start in midfield for Royal Excel Mouscron as they fell 1-0 away to Sporting Charleroi. Phillipe Sandler, Ante Palaversa, and Thomas Agyepong all missed out on the weekend's action with injuries. Austria Wien suffered a 2-3 home defeat to WSG Swarovski Tirol as Erik Palmer-Brown was an unused substitute. Ernest Agyiri started and scored his side's first goal in Enosis Neon Paralimni's 4-4 away draw at AEK Larnaca in the Cypriot top flight.

In Scotland, Ryotaro Meshino started once again for Hearts before being subbed off in the 67th minute of their 0-0 away draw to Livingston, while Daniel Arzani was not in the matchday squad for Celtic in their 4-0 away win over Aberdeen. Mix Diskerud's Ulsan Hyundai continued their winning ways and kept the lead at the top of the K-League table in their 2-1 home win over Gangwon, with the American starting and playing 72 minutes before being substituted off. Uriel Antuna started for LA Galaxy's 5-3 loss in the playoff edition of El Trafico, being subbed off in the 59th minute. The defeat marks the end of the Galaxy's season, with Antuna's loan expiring on the final day of the year.

Figured I would let the Monday night games conclude so we have a full report this week. Let's get into it.

Patrick Roberts once again missed out on Norwich City's matchday squad for their 2-0 away loss to Brighton at the weekend. Four of City's five Championship loanees squared off with another over the weekend. Luke Bolton came on for the final twenty minutes of Luton Town's 1-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, while Aro Muric was once again left on the bench for the visitors. Matt Smith again missed out on the matchday squad for Queens Park Rangers in their visit to Leeds United, but fellow City loanee Jack Harrison put in a man of the match performance for The Whites, scoring and assisting for the home side in their 2-0 win. Tosin Adarabioyo got another start for Blackburn Rovers and scored the equalizer in the 88th minute before his side scored another in the dying minutes to take a 2-1 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday. Adarabioyo was also named man of the match.

Zack Steffen was in goal for Fortuna Dusseldorf in their Bundesliga match against Koln, with the American international doing his part to keep a clean sheet for the home side. Lukas Nmecha got a rare start for Wolfsburg in their match away to Borussia Dortmund but was subbed off in the 66th minute of their 3-0 loss, picking up a yellow card in the process. Yangel Herrera was in the starting lineup for Granada against Real Sociedad, but El Graná fell 2-1 to the visitors. Pedro Porro was an unused substitute for Real Valladolid's 3-0 home win over Mallorca. In Ligue 1 action, Thierry Ambrose was an unused sub for Metz in their 2-2 draw with Montpellier, while Marlos Moreno was also an unused sub in yesterday's Premeira Liga match which saw Portimonense draw 1-1 with Santa Clara.

Ko Itakura got another start in defense for Groningen in the Eredivisie, doing his part to help the home side keep a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Willem II. Joel Latibeaudiere was another City loanee who wasn't able to impact his respective match this weekend, with the young Englishman left on the bench as an unused sub for Twente's 3-0 loss at AZ Alkmaar. In the Dutch second tier, Felix Correira started and came off after 62 minutes for Jong AZ Alkmaar in their 2-1 loss to FC Eindhoven. Ivan Ilic got the start for NAC Breda and scored the lone goal in their 1-1 draw with Go Ahead Eagles, also picking up a yellow card late in the match. His brother Luka came on as a sub at halftime. Claudio Gomes again started for Jong PSV and played the full 90 in their 1-1 draw with Roda JC Kerkrade, while Aminu Mohammed was not in the matchday squad for Dordrecht's 1-1 draw with TOP Oss.

Paolo Fernandes was an unused substitute for Perugia's 3-2 away win over Crotone in Serie B action, while Aleix Garcia was the only City loanee plying his trade in Belgium who was fit for this weekend's matches. The Spaniard started for Royal Excel Mouscron in their 3-1 win over Royal Antwerp, playing 87 minutes in the process. Philippe Sandler, Ante Palaversa, and Thomas Agyepong remain injured for their respective sides. Erik Palmer-Brown started and went the distance for Austria Wien in their Austrian Bundesliga tie away to LASK, but the side from the capital fell 2-0 to the hosts. In the Scottish League Cup, Ryotara Meshino started and played the full 90 for Hearts, but they bowed out of the cup after a 3-0 loss to Rangers. Daniel Arzani was not in the matchday squad for Celtic's 5-2 win over Hibs in the other semifinal, which helped set up an Old Firm final for the trophy.

In the Cypriot top flight, Ernest Agyiri started and played 60 minutes before coming off for Enosis Neon Paralimni in their 0-3 home loss to Apollon Limassol. In their quest for a K-League title, Mix Diskerud started for Ulsan Hyundai, playing 80 minutes before being subbed off in their 1-0 win over FC Seoul. Diskerud's side maintained their 3 point lead at the top of the table with just two matchdays remaining. The penultimate match of the league campaign will see Ulsan Hyundai take on second placed Jeonbuk FC. A win for home side will crown them champions, but a loss would see Jeonbuk overtake Ulsan on goal difference.

Below are highlights from Jack Harrison's MOTM performance for Leeds at the weekend, followed by a tweet from a buzzing MOTM Tosin Adrabioyo after Saturday's win.

The Spaniard started for Royal Excel Mouscron 3-1 win over Royal Antwerp, playing 87 minutes in the process.

Great post. Good to see Tosin doing well. I think he will make it back to the prem league at some stage in his career as a regular starter.
