Newcastle (a) post-match thread

No he'll play Rodri
We are going to need him. Burnley are going to bombard us in the air. Stones isn't willing to go and win headers, Fernandinho will try but is ultimately giving up about 3/4 inches to Wood and Barnes. Foden should play instead of Silva.

Who’d have thought playing a 34 year old midfielder in defence and a forward like Jesus would result in us struggling to score and letting soft goals in - it’s not rocket science, it really isn’t

we have pace in the team but for some reason choose not to use it. Is that down to Pep want us to play at a slower speed ? or the midfield Pep plays, a attacking midfield of KDB, Sterling, Bernie, Foden , Roddy holding and Jesus up top is fast. With our injuries with have to many players playing out of position.

Leagues gone, Foden needs to be starting games now. Gundogen needs to be out of the team. Break the bank for Chilwell and a top quality centre back. Then go again next season.

Sorry mate, but Norwich, Wolves and today were not affected by VAR. I said it the other day, but 1 point from them three games is a fair return considering how we played. We do not have the ability to play poor and grab the win.

its not them games that hurt us most its the other games when you see the dodgy stuff going on with VAR and liverpool winning when getting that help, yes city have looked well below par and maybe its the injuries and not signing a center back in the summer but when you see the stuff going on with liverpool and VAR then players will just give up and say fuck it

but going so hard over 2 seasons and winning 7 trophies has cost us this season and if we are off it then ok. we just have to get on with it and support the team and glory is never never ask from a manchester city fan and we are not glory hunters

Not at all surprised by today or this season. Did'nt see today but Newcastle are a hard side to beat at home. They are also well suited to us in the respect they can soak up pressure and break and exploit a poor defence.

As for the season overall VAR, injuries, and perhaps not beefing up the defence and the forwards in the last window were all going to impact this season.

Expect things to turn round soon but too late for the title, however there are other competitions and making sure we finish in the top four to concentrate on. Will be an interesting window coming up.
