Scvnthorpe EFL trophy lost 3-1

Think the idea is to give lads experience playing at league 1 and 2 grounds and sample the ‘atmosphere’. We’ve been to all 3 group games this season and the games have been attended by maybe 1500-2000 spectators. Disappointingly, they’ve all been played on nights when the first team have been playing which has meant not many City fans have attended. The best atmosphere we’ve seen at these games was last season’s last 16 tie against Rochdale, where there were probably 500 or so City fans and we won 4-2 after being 2-0 down. Anyway, we’ll be going to Shrewsbury in a couple of weeks.

One of the best games I saw last season. Tremendous second half comeback!

Top result and performance tonight away at Shrewsbury; came from 0-1 down to win on penalties, great free kick from Tommy Doyle and then 6/6 penalties scored. Grimmy only had 2 saves to make and then produced a great penalty save to win it for us. The 53 City fans got louder and louder throughout the second half and there were great scenes at the end with the shoot out In front of us. City were the better team for most of the game, lots of excellent passing and moving. Bring on the next round.

Salford are still in this autoglass paint trophy thingy, now that would be fun knocking them out next round.

I suspect the powers that be are bricking it at present. Imagine two PL EDS teams making it to the final.
