In any event you mean they should be treated as political prisoners outside of the normal legal system and not subject to the usual tariffs etc?

I think the general idea as crazy as it sounds is that if you have a charge of rape against an individual and you release them with no restrictions for a long period of time then

If innocent that's a lot of added stress and possible recriminations

If guilty they are free to use their passport and do one or more worrying continue to rape other victims.

I would imagine it was originally done for low level crime but as resources have become short violence and sexual crimes are being kicked down the road.

I think hoping tens of thousands of people accused of pretty horrific offences may all or even a good few be found innocent is horsehit.

You can't base that off a count of 200 voting in a poll.

You can base that of the voters, not the forum members.

You'd need a poll to reflect the closest moral position a person would be and extrapolate middling positions as well.

It may well turn out to be right to go off as above, just not an accurate test.

Of course you can.

When people call this forum right wing, that’s based off reading posts from forum members in off topic.

There are only a few hundred people that post in political threads, not tens of thousands. So of course the poll on here represents the make up of posters on the political threads.

Why would you need to see thousands of votes? There aren’t thousands of political posters.


This poll, like every other on Bluemoon in the past, shows a majority of people are on the left of the political spectrum. And to the left, albeit slightly, of the general population. And that the forum is certainly not some right wing fiefdom.

ps, imagine a thread with 57/58 more people siding with one opinion or view than the other. That’s six pages of posts entirely supporting one side.

This , whilst reported , is irrelevant unless you look at the demographics of who has been polled ........one of the You Gov polls last week had no input from people under 35 for example yet put the Tories way out in front . Polls can be and are manipulated .... they are only an indication of how the people surveyed would vote if the election was held tomorrow.

Not a representation of the national mood.

It’s a meta-analysis of all polls combined.

You should also probably take into account the silent Tory where polling is concerned and the fact that the stories generally perform better in elections than polls would indicate.


You can try and wrap yourself up in the blanket of it not being a representation of the National mood if you want. Hell, get down the bookies and stick a ton on a Labour majority if you’re so confident.

Khan was not charged with murder in 2012 so how do you lock him up for life contrary to sentencing tariffs unless you treat him as a political prisoner?
