The irony is that Chippy was the one of the most vocal remainers on here until he realised that 90% of his fellow Tories are ardent Brexiters. Bit sad that he couldn't stick to his principles and go against the views of the people he most admires. He probably would have agreed with everything Bob's posted.
I voted to Remain. This would normally put me in a pool of people that could vote Tory/Lib Dem or Labour (Social Democrat). I also believe in Democracy and unless we leave, democracy is done in this country, so the Lib Dems can whistle this time. I'm also a little Eurosceptic so Boris's One Nation Conservatism is perfect for me - especially as he wants a deal.
I actually, like Boris as a human being too. His bumbling demeanor is quite appealing.

What, the "principles" of ignoring a democratic referendum result? Not great principles those mate to be honest and I am on reflection a bit embarrassed I didn't realise that rather sooner.

My regular reminder to Remainers that unless you live in a Tory/ Lib Dem marginal the only vote that keeps Remain open as a possibility is Labour.
Corbyn cannot win a majority and so a minority Labour government propped up by SNP/ Libs etc would be limited in the legislation it could pass and would only be in office a short time. But crucially it could legislate for a referendum.
Otherwise we face the frightening prospect of an extreme right wing Tory government running the country for the next five years and the real prospect of a hard/no deal Brexit.

Getting desperate now Len?

:-D

Pretty much the outcome I'm hoping for.

Yes, for once I agree, yet this hybrid has to be weighted in favour of business, in order to supply the services needed.
The original point was that socialism, used without any freemarket influence, produces chaos, yet some won't see it.

And capitalism without any Socialist influence also produces chaos. Both are necessary components. We have slipped too far towards the capitalist end of the scale. We need to redress that balance.

You do know that China has a far worse inequality index than the UK?

Inequality in China is virtually the same as the great enemy which is US capitalism........

Have you also seen Hong Kong recently? People are quite literally fighting in the streets to avoid the forced implementation of Beijings wishes.

Clearly socialism or communism does not achieve what you think it will achieve.

I am outlining the Chinese model of ‘State Capitalism’. I am not advocating for it. Or Communism. Or Socialism. Other than that top post.

Meanwhile in other Election News:
The UK's Brexit envoy in Washington resigns saying she can no longer pedal half truths.
John Major issues an appeal to young people to vote against Boris Johnson's Brexit plans.
Bo Jo again rejects the findings in a new report from his own Government's Treasury Dept. that customs checks and paperwork will be necessary NI/GB and GB/NI ( no explanation or reason given obviously).

'One nation Conservatism' ?
'He wants a deal' ?
' His bumbling demeanor or is quite appealing' ?
Please tell me you're a WUM.

Kind of feel that this election is mired in denial. Denial of the issues on NHS, social care, the homeless. Denial about Brexit and what it means - today being a classic example with NI and our own internal trade now being partly governed by the EU, and denial that our own Govt is simply lying on these issues and the current PM is avoiding any scrutiny with ex Tory ministers spiking Johnson by saying it’s the right thing for him to do because it will show a man out of his depth if he did the interviews.

And now you have an ex Tory PM urging voters not to vote Tory.

Strange times.

And leavers put a finger in both ears and say RED backwards

Ex Chairman of the Conservative Party Chris Patten now using coded language to persuade voters to not vote Tory.
The realisation seems to be setting in that the country are about to elect a far right wing Government with our own version of Donald Trump at it's head.
That's an inconvenient truth to the reactionaries on here with their McCarthyite paranoia

It’s not Brexit that worries me the most about the conservatives getting a majority (although their deal and what they may do next does worry me quite a lot!). It’s the potential changes to the constitution that concern me more. For those that think “disaster averted” if Corbyn doesn’t get in, that may well be the case. Be careful you’re not sleepwalking into another one that has even further reaching consequences than anything Corbyn could do in five years though.

If it isn’t a hung parliament and either Johnson or Corbyn get a majority, I’ll be depressed. I’m already fully expecting Johnson to get one though so it’s mitigated a bit by me already accepting it.

Reality check mate - Corbyn cannot get a majority.
But with a lot of luck he might end up as head of a minority and we could get a referendum.
Spread the word.

TBF Bigga has been issuing out direct insults left right and centre (like you - no pun intended) for a while now - some of them way beyond what others are allowed

Interesting that when he gets a few back action is taken

I don’t know how many times you can call someone stupid before you get a slap on the wrist.

Maybe he’s got a hangover today?
People in glass houses really shouldn’t throw stones.

I’m absolutely guilty of it but I always get told to stop or thread banned, I don’t do it unprovoked either.

He was openly calling people stupid every single post.
