Johnson was better, but neither bombed - except Corbyn on the Brexit and security questions.
Whoever thought the Corbyn Neutral position was tenable (with no Leavers in sight on the Labour front bench) needs their bumps feeling.

Johnson is comfortable with Corbyn because he’s got enough ammo with him to deflect, it’s when he’s up against a few leaders at once and he has all of them coming at him, as well as A Neil, who is relentless.

I thought Johnson came out less damaged tonight but neither are good enough. I just think Corbyn is far more sinister and just a mere scratch below the surface reveals a great deal of extreme views and hatred, which will harm the country considerably and will end it in its current form.

Globalism is the problem. Ship in low wage labour and keep wages low while bumping up the wages of those at board room level.
 
Newsnight commenting on Johnson lies. First, that he waves his hands and deflects, but they're still lies. But Corbyn somehow can't bring himself to say "you're lying".

Denial that the would-be chancellor is a Marxist, despite him saying he is!

Denial that interest rates would *necessarily* go up and making everyone with a mortgage or who pays rent, hundreds of pounds a month worse off.

Denial that Landlords would run a mile if rent controls were brought in, leading to an even more acute shortage of affordable rental properties, pushing up homelessness

Denial that our businesses already pay EU average amounts of tax (our rate is low but we tax more broadly and give less allowances). And denial that the changes would make them the highest taxed and businesses would bugger off elsewhere.

Denial that no other EU country taxes the well off so punitively and the lower paid so lightly. That the Labour manifesto is one of bitterness and resentment against the better off.

Denial that anything is Labour's fault.

A promise is only a lie if it is not delivered.

I fully accept that too. At heart I’ve always been a capitalist; although I must confess, I’m starting to have my doubts about whether it has outlived its usefulness.

It seems to be despoiling the planet.

Not just for me, since I am sure I would manage under a Corbyn government, but for the whole country. It absolutely will be disaster averted. Hopefully if Labour lose, it will see the back of Corbyn and McDonnell once and for all. That ought to be something the whole country can celebrate.

Well said indeed

That is not simply a Tory viewpoint - it is what we of a traditional Labour supporting background want as well

The Labour Party does not exist at the moment - maybe it can become electable after the poison of Corbyn and McDonnell is gone
