I fully accept that too. At heart I’ve always been a capitalist; although I must confess, I’m starting to have my doubts about whether it has outlived its usefulness.

It seems to be despoiling the planet.
Got to agree. Globalisation is the enemy for me here - especially the rise of the mega corporation that does everything to avoid paying tax and acts as a monopoly or cartel.

Great news. The diplomatic core needs cleansing of people who won't do their jobs.
Presumably you agree with the old definition of an ambassador. "An ambassador is an honest man sent to lie abroad for the good of his country".

My quick guide to election night (shamelessly stolen from elsewhere). Stay up to 11.00 when Sunderland declares (they make a point of being first) and check the result:
  • If the Labour majority is more than 15,000 go to bed and start making plans to either emigrate, move your money abroad or lock your finances down for possible redundancy with two years.
  • If the Labour majority is 12,000 to 15,000, go to bed, expect another hung parliament - and despair.
  • If the Labour majority is 9,000 to 12,000, cross fingers, and hope Boris manages just enough seats.
  • If the Labour majority is 6,000 to 9,000, relax, go to bed, and look forward to the following morning.
  • If the Labour majority is under 6,000, stay up and watch the turkey shoot.
  • If Labour lose the seat, stay up to see which leading Labour politician is the first to defy Momentum and call on Corbyn to resign.

Friday is celebrate or emigrate .

Well said indeed

That is not simply a Tory viewpoint - it is what we of a traditional Labour supporting background want as well

The Labour Party does not exist at the moment - maybe it can become electable after the poison of Corbyn and McDonnell is gone
Nice to see an element of honesty from a traditional Labour supporter... the Labour Party in 2019 is a far cry from what it used to be

The job if a civil servant is to carry out the policy of the British government, to the best of their abability, regardless of what they personally think. If they're not up to that then they should resign or be sacked.

Nail on head.
My family is labour to the core but this is a party we don't identify with, its now bordering cult status.

Yep - prime example was Rodgers who had gone native for the EU
In the interests of his own country. The oath is to the crown not the government. It's not a personal pledge of loyalty to a political leader. That sounds a bit, well, Nazi.

Unfortunately most of those who promise to emigrate every time Labour get in never do.

Their sense of responsibility kicks in. They know they need to stick around so that in 5 years time they can help put the country back on its feet after Labour ruins the economy and raises the number of unemployed. Again.

Labour now relying on Russian hackers it appears.

Uncomfortable for some on here I would have thought given their stance in all things Russian interference the last 3 years.
