i hope we will win.
But what does Mahrez need to do to convince pep for starting the match when he is on fire? I think sterling is not playing well at this match and bernando should play the center
 
Thought we actually started the game at great pace and played really well. Poor last 20 minutes though.

hes trying to keep everyone happy, thats the reason for this constant rotation
 
This was always going to be a difficult game. Palace are ruthless in exploiting our very obvious weaknesses. They have the sense to make the game scrappy. To close space down the middle. To wait for their opportunities, because our defence is sure to give them up freely.

It’s very difficult to win games like this unless you can defend well. You’re left relying on moments of individual brilliance to pull you out of the hole. How have we gotten ourselves into a situation where we have one competent, but injured, centre-half? A 20 percentage point win rate difference when he is playing to when he is not.

This is a failure of management. We’ve spent hundreds of millions on defenders over the last decade to be left with this! To allow Kompany to leave without replacement was a brutally fatal blow to our hopes this season.

The defensive “anchor” of Stones, Fernandinho (at centre-half) and Gundogan is catastrophic. I wouldn’t be confident of our chances against anyone in the top two divisions with that combination of players.
 
We have the same players/system out there we had against Villa we beat these easy.

No idea why Pep fucks about so much changing systems/players every game.

For me it part of the reason for our inconsistency.

Klopp pretty much picks the same team every game.
 
One good thing. The league is over so Foden might get some games. Pep going to contract Lyon right now.
 
Little guile or pace so far plus the obligatory one shot, one goal against. Pub league defensive work as usual. Do we coach our defenders?

Get Mahrez and Foden on early second half in place of Sterling and Spanish Dave. (No fcukin chance.)

His foul on Zaha was a stone wall penalty when there was absolutely no need to put his foot in at all.
The corner that led to the goal he got caught underneath the ball for Cahill to head across to Tosun.
De Bruyne should of stepped up to play offside too.
 
We are not pressing aggressively enough which is allowing them too much time to gain their shape. When we then have the ball, we are playing too laboriously because all of their players are behind it. Quicken the pressing and we win this game and those singling out individuals are missing the picture - nobody is having a great game but they have had one attack.

And Gundy is conservative so I agree .
But if we also can't defend the high ball into our box then we are going to inevitably concede .
Kevin actually played 2 players onside for their goal but it's not his fault really because we have not defended the first header

In that case, Kun needs to go out in the second half snot a Palace player inside their box. And if they make contact and don't get out of the way, tough luck. PENALTY, stone wall.
