Quite a few people believed in Jim Jones and David Koresh too. Hope wasn't what people were sold. It was certainty that things would improve as a result of Brexit.
If just one of them would tell us something tangible and realistic about the benefits of the version of Brexit the government are aiming for, it would be easier to get behind it. Instead we get this pie in the sky shit about business needing to prepare and that there’s going to be some losers. Do they not realise that preparations for something they’re not sure about and contingencies to cover possibilities all cost money which will make those businesses less competitive and put up prices for consumers.
We’re supposed to be upbeat about all that?
If it all goes to shit, we’ll be told it’s down to negativity from Remainers!

Its a fucking sick joke.

The lemmings are hell bent on jumping off the cliff and we are described as negative because we are saying this isn't going to end well !

We've just gotta believe that gravity doesn't exist !

Fucking experts, what do they know eh ?

Anyway I'm going off to practice my positive Brexit thinking. Feel sure it will make all the difference.

It’s funny how they all go quiet when asked for something tangible about the benefits.

Still waiting for just one “brexpert” to tell us how not aligning regulations with the EU is going to be good for business overall. Apparently there are going to be winners and losers. We know that some of the losers will be car manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, construction and aerospace. Can someone tell us who the winners are going to be. Wetherpoons maybe? Pawn shops, pound shops? What else? Fish maybe?
Do people realise that even after brexit we will be perfectly aligned with EU regs? We would have to introduce new regs/legislation to unalign ourselves which will be a pretty tedious process and not one anyone will probably be arsed setting in motion. There is 40 years of alignment to unpick, and unless someone wants to start chlorinating chicken, making cars without seatbelts, making carrier bags with no safety holes or some other such mentalism we will remain aligned until years of new EU legislation which we will not have been subject to have come to pass.

Pray expand and tell us why. What are the tangible benefits that Brexit will bring to us all that we can get behind?

As a remainer I can’t answer that, you should ask a leaver. I’m merely falling in line with the cheerleading for Brexit and will cheerfully bung a Bob for a Big Ben bong to celebrate our new found freedom. Or something like that

Have you seen what Johnson and Javid have said?

" there will be NO alignment we will NOT be rule takers"

Ha ha ha ha ha

No I ain't. When even Javid accepts there will be losers - contrary to what we were told I am interested to hear what we can get behind.
If someone told you there would be no losers, then either they were lying or you are being a little naive to have swallowed it. You can't make any change to any legislation without creating 'losers'. Change of any sort in life benefits some and not others.

for somebody you mean the Leave Campaign? Plenty swallowed their shite. I have spent 3 years pointing out is was bollocks whilst Leavers have told us THEY swallowed it. Lol !

Lol. The oddly entitled Repeal Act commits all extant EU regs to British Law. All the shit we make coforms to EU legislation, and if you think things are suddenly going to start coming off UK production lines made to a different standard the day after brexit you are bonkers. We won't be adopting any new EU legislation, so we'll move gradually out of alignment I suppose but I expect that may be a generation away. Manufacturers will always produce what the market requires and will always align to the fussiest (profitable)customer. Johnson and Javid were playing to the brexit idiots, and accidentally triggered the remain idiots in the process.

Tell me why the chancellor’s telling us we won’t be aligned? Is he lying?

Oh ffs, is it really that hard? It's like me telling you I'll be dead. It's not a lie because I will be one day.
I actually agree with you that his comments are to appease the morons. The reality will be some sort of deal that changes as little as possible but that wouldn’t go down well with the Brexit cheerleaders and the EU. The EU are no mugs though, they’ll see straight through it.
Anyway, now we’ve established that we’ll probably stay mostly aligned, what’s the point of it all?
