Future Strikers

We won't buy a striker until Aguero leaves , starting to feel he may do an extra year so no idea what options will be around in summer 22.
Not a chance we will wait, we will spend big on a striker this summer, very big.

Sane will be gone, Sergio a year older and Jesus the jury very much out.
Sane may or may not be gone, if he is he'll be replaced. We won't replace Aguero until he goes, Jesus isn't going anywhere. So how are you fitting this new big money striker into the squad.

It would be poor management not to get Aguero replacement in advance. Top strikers do not grow on trees. There is no guarantees genuinely top striker is available when he really goes.

If Lautaro Martinez is available now, sign him up. He has €111m clause.

Sane does not even really need replacing, just move Jesus out left, sell Zinchenko. Foreign spots are there.

Jesus will never be 1st choice, he is simply not consistent enough and clearly has confidence issues. Great back up, but nothing more.

How do you make room in the squad for a third striker and even if you do which one of Aguero,Jesus and this new striker good enough to replace Aguero doesn’t even make the bench.pp
Only way I see is if Sane is replaced by the new striker but would rather keep Sane

Gone, Bravo, Otto, Angelino, Silva and Sane

5 spots for starters.

Don't agree but even as back up it doesn't explain how you fit an Aguero replacement into the squad with Aguero still in it.

As I said before at the very least we will have 5 spots available.

And I also think there may well be a couple of unexpected departures.

Bravo, Ottomendi will be replaced as will Sane if he goes Angelino doesn't take up a place. Silva I hadn't thought of. Still we'd be left with 3 strikers for one position, if Aguero extends maybe for 2 seasons one wouldnt even make the bench. Guess we'll see but I for one don't expect any forward this summer unless it's a replacement for Sane in which case it will be a winger / wide forward.

Replacing Kun is the single biggest problem that Txixi et al will have to face in their time at the club - they will have to "splash the cash" to get it right and there can be no scrimping and saving on this.

Jesus is a decent player but he aint a Kun replacement and never will be - he doesnt strike the fear into teams aguero always has done from the moment he stepped on the pitch in the premiership.

They will be working on it right now hopefully but out of respect to Kun i guess we wont hear much until at least next summer (2021)
The same was said about Yaya and no doubt others. If we cannot buy an equal or better, we will simply but whoever best suits us, adapt and play to our strengths

Sergio will be the same next season and may well stay an extra year, this summer is too early to replace him, next summer a player with same type of skills 23/24 yrs old

If we buy this summer that player would have to rotate and learn from the master with gabby on the left, wpould gabby want to do that? Who knows

It is not as straight foward. When you zre dealing with real players and 100m quid

Zinchy has a 5yr deal so he won't be off,if nico goes eric jnr woill take his place

We have to replace bravo, angel and sane ,we have eric jnr for nico and phil for dave, so we wont have a lot of spare places
Foden won't be replacing David Silva in the short term, a top class midfielder will be brought in

Wonder what Foden will think of that. He’s hardly played this season despite Sane being injured.

From the outside I assumed the plan would be for Bernardo to replace Silva in the middle with Foden becoming back up. Would also give Mahrez much more game time on the right, as I doubt he was satisfied with the constant rotation last season which was clearly affecting his performances.

Wouldn't be against getting an upgrade for Gundogan though.

He is slowly getting more minutes, but in 7 months time he is not going to be a regular starter.
