'home grown' strikers

Why can't we produce a good one from the academy these days?. Nmecha looks like league one might be his level, so who else is there?
Of the existing ones, Nabili Touaizi maybe although he's had some injuries I think. Lorenzo Gonzalez is built like a brick outhouse for such a young lad but whether he'd make it with us, I suspect not. Liam Delap seems to score for fun in the U18's.

The term 'Home grown' almost means nothing now does it? Buying a youngster overseas bringing him here is the same as buying a ready made player on the open market. That being said we've had a few Manchester lads come through with the latest being Phil but no club has got a conveyor belt of local talent hitting the first team.
Having 2 Stockport lads in the first team is some achievement.

It most definitely does meaning something as regards the makeup of the squad.

The concept means nothing, home grown can mean foreign it can mean anything really. Bringing a player from let's say Algeria does nothing to help English players coming through which is why the FA started the initiative.
