As the bloke on the BBC said in response to exactly that globalization point, those groupings are about bilateral relationships, the EU's pooling of sovereignty is unprecedented and untested in global form. I think the dangers inherent in the inevitable dissolution of the EU is something everybody should be mindful of.

If you start from the position that physical borders, often based on arbitrary lines or as a result of conquest or colonialism, are an aberration in the history of the world, Brexit looks even dafter. For an island nation we're nearly as much an immigrant nation as Australia or the USA (ignoring the conquered races of course).

No they are not. They cannot be bilateral if it involves 54 countries as it does with AfCFTA. They are coming together as a bloc and pooling sovereignty with the aim of reducing trade barriers throughout the bloc. It has been styled as the new ‘EU’. Seriously no wonder we are coming across to the rest of the world as dribbling loons when we have this half baked drivel turning our brains into mush.

Also what is this EU isolated shit from Baker? Geography not his strong point I take it. Classic case of ‘Fog in English Channel. Continent cut off’

1.Blame the court reporter for lack of paras
2.Balance German Domestic v Euro law. That was my point about will. The Germans would have to amend their constitution to give proper effect to EAW, but have shown no inclination to do so. They will certainly not make a special case.
3. I'm not sure what procedure Germany uses to give effect to EU laws but a codified system makes this much harder. The UK, being a common law country, has no such difficulties.
4.EAW is not international law, it is given effect by changes to the domestic law in each EU country. The German constitutional court is saying that whatever was enacted into German law was unconstitutional. This follows the ruling some years ago that German law cannot be rendered nugatory by enacting EU measures.

I will do sunshine. My shitty comment is a direct result of being royally fucked off that the idiocy that's been threatened is now actually going to happen. Go and look at the video of that frog faced **** farage waving his shitty plastic flag with his mates yesterday in the EU parliament. What a depressing day.

This is where i'm at. Nothing will happen for another 6 months. We will get the very predictable BS about how the sky wont fall in on monday morning and look no job losses in the next month or so. Its BS. We are in a transition and we don't have a clue where we are going or what the implications will be.

Give it 6 months and we will be at a cross roads again and that is when the shit hits the fan and the hard realities will have to be faced. 6 months - 12 months - 18 month time, that is when they will need to own it.
 
Having a few skinheads round for some special brew and burgers before going round to the Polish neighbours and telling them to get the fuck out of our country.

Either that or will be in bed, wake up tomorrow and it will be just another day, the sun will rise, planes wont fall out of the sky and food will be on the shelves in Tesco when i pop for some bacon.

Might go with the latter...
